  1. time to confess.... I recently bought my first trance albums (unless you count numerous trance ambient albums):

    Ticon - Aero CD

    Vibrasphere - Lime Structure CD

yeah, after discovering prog trance that is what I'm goin for - all prog baby.

what you think about my entry? B)

next; maybe Sensifeel, Gaudium..... still need to decide if Freq and Son Kite are good enough to buy.

  2. it's true for all genres. there are more releases every year that are bad rather than fantastic, which is good in a way cause else I'd be a very poor man. am I alone on this one, or is it that the crappy trance (ambient) albums are very generic and almost emberresably lame. while you can take a crappy techno/tech-house release and atleast you hear small traces of innovation, or atleast an attempt to do something original? that's why I used to listen to prog rock alot, cause the norm within that genre was to strive for something original, but not all bands succeded of course.

  3. I also fail to see the point sometimes.

But generally, progressive is more trance while psychedelic is more psychedelic....

Although most artist's don't use the genre's full potential. Like in most genres.

this makes no sense. the potential would be *outside* any genre, if anything. searching inside a well-established genre would lead to --->> stereotypical cliche trance.

I've always thought people listen to prog psy because they just don't know for better.

I've never come across a fellow who has wide knowledge of electronic music genres and still prefers prog psy.

    never.

that would be me and Detector then :D

    minimal/ambient techno. very nice.

  6. Yet I don't really get what you mean by "as some of Koxbox and Logic Bomb", they're far from being techtrance imo.

I mean I like their progressive influences (if that means housier rhythms). techno and tech-house is related....is it confusing? it's suppose to be :)
