  1. Wow! What is this? I guess goatrance went here on a higher level!

Music that is sweeping, clear and bright; and certainly very trancy! As all the tracks starts very gentle, their ending always makes me crazy and "dance like nobody is watching"!

As Etnica made this CD, I have to admit, they could not do a better job to define goatrance in a better way! Every tracks is very outbalanced, fluently and takes a psychedelic twist, guiding us to the ending of the track!

To me it seems that this way they are capable, as we are used of them in that period of time, to tell us a complete story where one can not only just dance on, but also sitting and relaxing in a comfortable chair and just listen to the geniousness and refined sounds.

It surprises me, every time I listen to this masterpiece, that the exact timing of their compositions is what makes this album so strong. This goatrance is not made in a few days, it needed some thinking to me. It can't be done in a few hours. That's why I must admit that the guys who wrote this album where very intelligent goatrance designers!

When will they release more off this? Hope to see that happen soon!

  2. Well, I have met René few months ago, and I can only say his music is just like his personality - laughing: wicked mixed salad ballade dancing music vibes!!! Only made in a few weeks time; well this is a bomb!!!

Zibling Zwirl is that track name that cover the entirely what the songs is doing here: taking "zwibling" twists and let your body wanna see all corners of the room. A fluent melody, twisting and turning you around. Like a whirl wind take control of your feet and hands!

Frozen trance, but still fluent is a strange sort of way. Making you wonder if the ice is melted or not!

Spectral Collapse is more trancy than the first track. Especially the brake on 4:10 shows how skilled René make the trance come back into the song, from here the songs takes a leap forward and makes a happy end to the ending! Slowly building up and making you flow on weird kinda trance trip.

Liquid Prisma, haha, a more happy start here! Com on and dance to this cheerful melody, but still very Bypass Unit, a bit frozen, still fluid enough to dance!

I feel that this track has more layers and spiral twists in it. More of a song to think about. Kinda rough and deep melody line switch from one to another. Taking one direction after another.

On 2:55 you can hear how nicely those layers all fit together. Again a masterpiece to me.

Not high peeking music, but still great enough to trow your self in!!! Spinning , spinning and twirling!!! And from 7:55; just dance!!!

In Mesmer Drops the cd takes another and more trancy twist! Taking you on a more melodic journey trough the Bypass Unit soundings! This track more is long ans spinning around; no high peaks, just infecting your brain with some nice layered goatrance!

Lunar Senses is even more going up the trace way, but still, we have that delicious Bypass Unit undertones and baseline, just love it actually! From the start this songs is strong, not really time for a slow motion building up, go with the flow, tis is like the first songs twisted and taking all directions.

This track bursts of energy, from the first to the last moment of it. It has no time to let you come easily in it, just take the ride, that's my feeling here!

Distorted Frames, I think this track is the masterpiece of the whole cd! This is the songs where every aspect of Bypass Unit and much more comes together!!! The whole is vivid, strong, deep, powerfull and very melodic!!

I have no words for this track because it is just a very great ride to my opinion! Nothing to add.

Again, we have in Nanosphere Courier a strong and vivid track! Less melodic, but also deeper than deep. Check out the part around 6:20, genius at work! He makes us twirl and twirl, maybe even more than is his first track! A pearl, no a diamond doze!

    Nothing to add here too!

I think the last track, Frozen Symrex, is a nice melodic finishing tough of the whole album! I goes very gentle and easy going from the beginning to the end; still it has (hidden) power in it layers! The more I listen to this one I dive deep in it! Become crazy with this - first a like gentle but freaky deep - melodies!

I guess this is the best album of Bypass Unit, less trancy than the second one, but o so strong and well thought!!! His music makes me dance and think at the same time; very enjoyable goatrance with a unique sound! Every collector hears this is Bypass Unit! Great, greater, greatest!

  3. well, everyone can see everyones vote on discogs so far as I know? This always was like that... So you review an album, say it is very good, rate it 1/5 after the review on discogs and say this is a test... ok... That makes sense and makes your review very believable...

myes, seems that now everyone can just vote on discogs; didn't it used to be different?

i think voting needs to be taken a bit more serious, even when not liking this cd, it seems a good cd, quality, sound, story, layers, all very good, even if you are not into goa you can see/hear this; sorry, really bothers me this 1/5; seems unfair to the hard 3 year work these guys did! they deserve better, i think if you give it a 1/5 you should just dispose of it and delete that vote...reviewing like this and voting like that, seems like a frustrating; haha...any how, freedom of speech i guess, well i just gave mine too ;)

Landed in the mailbox this morning, been listening since then while skipping turns with preparing my tracks for my own first live set this saturday.

Another significant release so it seems, the return of the old masters.

Well, I have my own preference in style 'n stuff, but i always try to keep it objective enough.

So let's go for RA - 9th, a fluid psychedelic trip.

    Intro 1:21

Sets a dark mood, bulking voice, very cinematic, egyptian and impressive!!

    Octagon 7:48

Here we are! Slowly we fade into this mysterious piece of trance with all the RA elements, feels good. Fat textures and crunchy pads.

The song keeps it's distinguished oriental feel down to the end.

    Predator 7:58

This one I remember from the previews. Didn't think much of it but it surely isn't a bad track in any way. Happy times, a bit too happy maybe. Light on the digest. Still good melodywork but a bit too instantly forgetable maybe. A part from the somewhat overfluffiness, a very good track.

    Other Self 8:54

The first one for me to breath the old Ra 100%. Lots of layers, oriental, mysterious. The strings. This one rolls on to become a very deep and mesmerizing tune. Deep space drones and floating pads make up the scene here. The typical Ra sound!!

    Ultima Energica 7:41

More trippyness. Fast bassriff skids on, pads twirl. Excellent dancefloor stuff. Again the typical Ra sound and feel. Egyptian and oriental. Fast atmo and many crazy vibes. Indeedy Ultima Energica, the strongest dance track on this album.

    Time Current 8:13

A lighter intro is welcome after Ultima Energica, and even better, a whole lighter track. Lucid melodies, even clubby even. This track has definitely a clubby edge. But a good one! Uplifting squares dance around and there's that signature sound. This will surely become the key track on this album. The melody is instantly recognisable and very sticky. A kind of goa/trance/club spin-off and still nice to listen. Good work! If i'm not mistaken this was the piece called 'Sytrus' no?

    Spirit Complex 9:04

Another sweeping oriental mover. Comes on slower and more cinematic. Nice eastern synthsounds. Great how these guys build such a complete atmosphere with so little sounds. Steadily trances on to the break, and then some fat great synth riff. Love it how it keeps going higher and higher! No crazy layers here, but the simple essence of beautiful goa trance!

    Transcendent 9:13

Gently slides in, deep bassriff, scary pads, mysterious and trippy atmo. Solid engineering. Strings change the feel. A short break, rebuilds itself to a steady piece of trippy goa trance. Very full, magical atmo. Then a repetitive riff. Hypnosis begins. Very entrancing but then an unsuspected key change. Interesting to hear. Moves around a bit, light, dark. Can't decide on an atmo and then comes the beat. Takes back it's flow into oriental strings and trippy synth pads. Light melodies and a deep, entrancing bassline. Builds and builds, grows and grows, Trance goes deeper and wider, then the wave breaks and slows down... hmm not too fond of this tempo fade outro... kinda weirda.. still good track!

    Expand Consciousness 7:04

More Egyptian-ness. This time we're in the sarcophagus of Tutanchamon! :drama: Great portamento on the first main synth. Love how it glides. Slower tempo, same trippyness! Excellent riffs. It's hard to call this morning since it always tends to be egyptian/oriental but the feel it gives is combined for me. Makes me think of morning trance, makes me think of ethnical influenced music. It's the perfect fusion of both! Various short breaks give rests in between the massive egyptian melodies. Sweet, beautiful and entrancing!

    Light Receiver 8:20

Voices haunt the air, typical eastern string pad. Breakbeats and shimmering melodies. Like a sad song for the forgotten souls, tip-toeing on the edge of happiness and sadness. Then more chilled breaks play. Flutes, voices, synths, it all molds to one here. Nice touches everywhere. Real storytelling. Very beautiful evolution in this track.

Then a very special ending piece with vocals. Great ambience!!! Like an old movie or something. Something you remember from somewhere but can't determine it exactly. Always Trust.

There we are. A scorching sun, endless dunes and desert plains and countless tombes later, we arrive in the oasis of the aftertaste of this album. Not so varied in general, but very varied within their own style! A very coherent album with a solid concept. Another timeless masterpiece to become!

Look into the light and see All that is RA!

    favs: 1,2,4,5,7,8

    8/10

kinda funny, your vote on discogs is 1/5; why; your review says at least 4/5; what is already actually 1 point to little for this CD :)

man, i love this CD; I told Jos this was what i was waiting for a whole year, and it is!!!! man, shit, crap, good!!! day 5 it is on here, still not tired!

  5. Hi everyone! as i wrote on discogs, the album is a masterpiece, i have heard in my life a LOT of oldschool stuff and believe me there is some magical vibe to this one, i really admire a producer that despite the difficult times we are living musically speaking, managed to concentrate the essence of what used to be the music that had us dancing and dreaming. Regarding the chit chat above of being an album with no soul, i ask to the guy if he managed to find any soul in the modern produced material. To me it is impossible to find.. and if you say oldies were always better, ok i can agree but remember that these oldies are somehow magical because we all have great memories of parties, situations, atmospheres that were created because it was THE THINGh, everywhere the music played was the same and there was somehow a vibe over the world that was simply different. If theoretically right now they would play only oldschool music at every party everywhere in the world the vibe globally would change, both on the producers and on the people but this wont happen as for now for what i see. But back to the album i can say it has a balanced structure and the order of the tracks is also very well chosen, we build up to an apex of the fastest and most delirious track in the middle to get down and get more deep an mature to the tracks towards the end. So really overall, if u miss this album, you are missing a true piece of art. It will build its own history on its own, there wont be any need to speak furthermore from my side. Big respect to the artist for his work and all his dedication and a big thanks to the suntrippers for bringing us another gem :)

sorry dude, can't agree, this has soul! electronic music has a soul, but maybe some electronic has less or no soul, could be...i see in this an artists soul, working 3 years on this, i think it is a bit arrogant to say this has no soul because its just electronic music??!! this album is pure emotion, it touches me as hard as deep old skool jazz or nice classical music of Mozart or piano music of Ravel!!!

this album is deep, melodic and well composed, so that's soul, it's music, it's made by humans, it has a soul to me! but we must disagree on something i guess, the rest of your review sounds like no different from my opinion!

this is my cd of the year, the last years, one of the best cd's in my collection, feel free to browse it on discogs, there are a lot of cd's, and well, this is one of the best!!! just saying it, i like this extremely much!!!! just trying to make my point stronger, nothing more :)

  6. this is the best album from 2008 so far

i know many won't like it because it is not climax music; but it is climax music, just listen, listen to it! it is music in wich one can find new details and twists every time, that makes it so f...cking interesting man!

so, i someone tells me there are no cimaxes in it, it's a lie, imo!

intro is so massive, no beat, but i could dance dance dance on it like hell! because it has so musc power! just like the whole album, it is pure power! maybe we all think power is in the baseline of a song, well again, imo, that's a lie!

i noticed this on my last dj set this week, i only played this kinda music, and it was easy to see how many people don't seem to really understand goaTRANCE, needs no real hard baseline, no need for a high bpm, just trance and layers and it costs a lot of patience and effort to hear all the layers do their works, this album is one soul, one cluster of layers

i think this is the album! it's trance, complex and flows, maybe to much trance for the many of us???? who knows, I like like a lot; best new skool i heard ever! my taste, my smile!!!!

  7. this is amazing set, exactly my kinda music choices! :) the tracks flow well into each other and there's consistency.

only little sad smileys I'd give for the filteria track, I simply don't like it, very maximal but substance (ie. the synths don't create good melodies but come hazardiously on top of each other) poor. And for the sound volume, you seemed to have some issues with that.

    thx for sharing!

    you are welcome!!!!

    any comments on this one????

  8. heard samples somewhere! not my kinda thing, sounds more like real trance, heard better before in my life!

and some hard trance tracks; myes, sorry, but 130 euro is crazy!! I know it is been sold for 20, sorry to ruïn the fun!

btw; last track calls "Switch Mode"

rare , but not so good to me, just rare! like so many stuff in the world floating around (against crazy prices)

  9. Hi, what would people be willing to offer for this. yes i have a copy in good condition. I know the last one sold went for 130 euros. Pm me if your serious.

is it melodic? is it acidtrance? is it flowing trance?

or is it more like nitch o not???

let us know!!! with what names can we compare it?

  10. I would recommend Anoebis and the Suntrip label. How sweet would the lineup of Filteria, Khetzal and ColorBox be?

    Can't wait.

Oh, by the way congratulations on the birth of your daughter, and the album was absolute magic.

btw(4) I never told old Etnica stuff is only goatrance existing, it's just my favorite!

I did not tell Ra's last song was goa? it was nice melodic trance with a pinch of psychedelic in it! so it was nice!

is it wrong to like it :( (laughing) :)

  14. I did not know where to put this topic, but we all know suntrip is gonna make a release of a new RA album soon and a comp. of various artists too in 2008!

so this is no real news, although I'm not a suntripper myself, but let you guys to know, 2 weeks ago we could hear "RA" play a new live set here and let me tell you guys, it's gonna be a blast!

after that anoebis played - to me his best set I've ever heard - with some new material of the new compilation that is to come!

I can only recommend you all to go to the "myspace of suntrip" and listen to the samples they already put on the net!

Why I do this? making "promotion" of a label which I'm actually no part off; well Jos already knows, I was this touched by the music of his set (it was like a mental bomb, playing "old Etnica styled music" all the time - wow! my all favourite tunes!!!) and the music that RA was doing I could cry, really!!!

That night when I got home I lie awake because I couldn't stop thinking about this great music!!!

so be sure dudes, this two albums are gonna be a blast!!! I couldn't resist to share this feeling with you all because it's that wonderful!!! goatrance lives, lives, ...shall live on!!!!

those who love the old Etnica sound and the dimension 5 flow will be blown away in 2008!!!!!

couldn't resist sharing this with you guy, I know there are a lot of goatrance lovers here on the forum!!!

these can only be mine modest, but very happy, best wishes for the new year :)

  15. It finally works, downloading the first mix right now! :)

I just had to right-click on the button/link to download it but I swear it didn't work like that on the first try.

thanks; any more comments the rest of the pack?
