I'd love to see Raja Ram put together an album of mystical ambient music featuring and focusing on his flute playing with each track. He could team up with Simon, Total Eclipse, Doof, etc. I'm thinking of his flute work on Shpongle obviously, but also tracks like Freefalling Upwards get me. Doof's Balashwaar Baksheesh comes to mind too, in terms of style.

Well that was fun. Just woke out of my post-Shpongle daze. Can someone please identify the really funky track Simon played with the horns and such, after all the Shpongle stuff? I overheard someone saying "James Bond" but it didn't sound like James Bond to me...

Well I've heard a more raw rendition in a traditional Indian festival that makes me suspect it is an actual raga there that could be identified. Raja's version is of course supremely beautiful though.

Can anyone identify the flute line early in Star Shpongled Banner? I have heard it now twice in the context of the Nag Panchami festival in India. I was recently traveling in India and was told that that festival has no specific traditional music though. Thanks.
