  1. I have V.O.C and this one now as a gift from my girl for new year and I'm sorry to say that I find O.O.O.D & V.O.C great for using in a set, and yes it works well in commercial house/club trance settings as well, but I just can' stand listening to the album as whole... I can see the effort and time put in, the quality is amazing, but the track for me just seem to plonk along sounding the same... the samples drive me nuts in bad way. it just shits me up the wall like listening to Raja Ram's stash bags, but at least with those you expect it, this I thought would be much less annoying... so Collin, I apologise if I seem rude or blunt, but I'd rather be honest about this than rave on about how good it is like everybody else because you hang out here... I'd like to say that I'll be first in line for a live show when I get the chance because I think both V.O.C and O.O.O.D would be an awesome live gig, but the studio stuff just hasn't cut it for me :( I give you my full respects on quality thought :)

I understand what you say, I would definately put some of the songs in sets, they fit my musical taste so good. When it comes to seeing the albuns as a whole, they actually seem pretty eclectic, very diverse from song to song enought to get my attention. And thats what I love about them.

  2. i do agree on underworld, chemical, prodigy too... not daft, eventhough i like their style.. but i dont understand why those tracks should be played at a psy party!!

    what's the purpose ?!

some of them are perfect for a party, obviously to have its own slot and not to interrupt a psy mix. they can be quite uplifting and put you on the right mood before starting the madness.

  3. no word, sorry

trackselection is a matter of taste good mixing not therefore you should always make sure that the mixing is good otherwise you end up with bad mixing and bad trackselection (what might be a good track for u can sound like shit to someone else)....

this is exaclty what I mean it is sooo clear but still some people don't get it  ....

    (no offence)

no, good mixing is a matter of technique, which as everything technical, it can be learned with practice.

about the taste, maybe youre right, but if you cant put people on the dancefloor I guess the dj isnt doing what it should, but it depends on the situation, a warm up or chill out dj shouldnt be all about dancing.

I guess the only way to measure the success of a dj, is how many people show to listen/ dance.

  4. what I still don't understand is that till this day on people still deny the importance of beatmixing and keep on bullshitting that with goatrance it is all about trackselection !!!

it's about both like in any other gerne ....

Well, if you have the mixing skills but an awful selection youre doomed. If you have great selection but awful mixing skills there is hope :)
