Had to post this here as well. It'll give you a fantastic look into the japanese Goa scene of the 90'es. One of the best documentaries I've ever seen:

Excellent Imba!

I could talk about this for hours, but I'll try and keep it short. The Goa/Trance scene in Copenhagen, as I experienced it in the late 90'es, was quite a gritty place to be. Lot's of criminals, excessive drug use, parties organized by gangsters etc. So that's the vibe I connect Goa with. Dark and mysterious urban electronic music. I've never been to India, so...

Wrong thread...

He seems like a really nice guy indeed. I hope you'll all enjoy the interview.

The interview is done. Will send it to the mod later today.

Not too keen on MFG either...

Thanks for the tip. I'll make sure to search for him.

I haven't read through the entire thread, but I'd take my time to read up on the gear used by your favorite artists. Roland's Juno's, Nord II and Nord Lead, SH-101, Jupitor 8, TB-303 and drum machines like the Roland 909 and 808 etc. Find the best plugins to emulate these machines and learn how to use them.
Learn about EQ and compression as well. One of the biggest differences between the classic analog sound and modern digital production is in the treble area. Learn how to control that.
VST's will never sound as good as the real deal, but you can get close.

Not Goa, but...

Kurosaki has agreed to do the interview and the questions have been sent to him. He has a friend translating it for him so I had to keep the language simple. I hope it will turn out good though

I'll make sure to do that, thanks.

Excellent. I'll see what I can do then.

I just got in contact with Kurosaki through a common friend. Would you guys be interested in an interview?

Please spare me your racist bigotry.

The sound seperation is a must, goa needs to breathe, rather than be a big flat line of sounds mashed together.
ALL music needs to breathe. Brickwalling was a trap. A mistake. End of story.

An original K.U.R.O. poster and a magazine feature from the Tokyo Tekno Tribe days:

Not into that track to be honest. Never liked Overlords either.

I love Moment of Truth, but Martin Freeland has nothing on early Hallucinogen.
-
You dislike this too?
I do.

These "debates" always seem to end up repeating the same 5-6 names as been mentioned countless times before here on psynews (debate 10.001?). Do you guys never get bored and are you not curious about all the amazing other artists out there than the same small selection you debate to dead? no bad intention just curious
Maybe it's time for a debate where Israel and UK are "banned"
I can see where you're coming from. The country of the Goa Trance scene was a state of mind. It transcended geography.

Koxbox... no one came close to their psychedelic dripping acid tunes!
Well that goes without saying

Yeah that's what I heard.
