  1. Hiya, I just bought the m-audio audiophile 192, one step up from the 2496, and it does the job beautifully for me, great for all my software, and supports my hardware synth as well (in case you ever want one, an input and output is good to have...) so i say go for the 2496 if you want a stable little card w/o too many extras. If you plan to go for hardware sometime, the 192 might be a better decision... Good luck with it!
  2. In regard to Vc0n's post, I suggest starting with fruity loops as well, I did the same, then went on to reason 2.5 for about 6 months and i have to say that its a good program, but compared to cubase its really not that great for psytrance. Start on fruityloops cause its a really visual set up which makes it easy to learn the fundamentals. Make sure to read plenty of tutorials online about fruityloops and how to use effects/filters/automation and so on. Since you have reason i suppose it would be easier to start on that, but i leave it up to you. But i suggest that you aim for cubase, cause it has so much more power than reason or fruityloops... good luck
  3. Hey, Just wondering if any of you fraggles are heading to the Alchemy party at the Coronet (elephant and castle) in london this weekend? Its gona be a large one! Broken Toy live Rinkadink Live Dark Soho Live Va good Dj's as well Come for a night of groovy tunes and stomping beats! hope to see some of you there!
  4. Mubali, keep em stomping! Some wicked tracks man, down and dirty psy, the way its supposed to be! If you dont mind me asking, what are your favourite vsts? I just got cubase up and running myself and need to get some nasty vsts... I'd love to post some tips myself, but most of my knowledge has been covered already.... Keep the tips coming though!
  5. Hello everyone, just wanted to post the newest edition of my latest track, Evolutionary Telescope. Check it out, and dont hesitate to give me some feedback Evolutionary Telescope (192kb) If you prefer 96kb or 320 kb, visit the music section of my website: Music download @ www.vonoom.com Thanks
  6. MY WALDORF Q! (hardware) Just bought it and im so amazed! You can modulate everthing on this beast! ahahahaaaa, it makes some really twisted leads, everything from noisy dirty russian style sounds to the breezy summerday pads of groovy morning music. I agree with Filteria, the Q doesnt seem to be the best at basslines, although ive managed to get a few out with a lot of eq'ing and compression. So, in other words, I love my Q and i wouldnt trade it for the world hehe. My next piece of harddware has got to be the Clavia Nord Lead 3, its just such a tight little synth with such awesome power... anyway, hope this um... well, informed you about which synth i love... heh see ya!
  7. IMO Talamasca has been going downlhill for the past few years... I think some of the best examples of psytrance full-on would be Shift Theoreme Phyx Broken Toy to name a few (i know its a lot of S. african, oh well, like the style) The bassline is definitely one of the main ingredients in full-on, but without some great leads/breaks/tweaks its just a bass... All the elements of the track have to flow together to create a crescendo that'll make you stomp your feet off... Any of the above mentioned artist's tracks will clearly define at least one type of full-on within psytrance... Anyway, I guess that lays out my opinion... enjoy!
  8. Im a bit confused about how this poll turned into a discussion about aryans and jews, but nevermind. I think that there are some excellent artists in Israel, but generally most sound very alike. I suppose its mostly because they've found a musical formula that drives the dancefloor and pretty much guarantees a fan-base. I mean, nobody can resist a powerful israeli morning groover when the sun is rising, but it would be nice to see something more creative come out of israel soon. So in answer to the poll, its not one or the other (dont think anything in this world is quite like that) but rather that there's an occasional great release from israel, but generally the sound is too monotonous (and its sort of the easy way out if you ask me hehe) Boom!
  9. I agree with EP, (although i dont know Avi and Lior hehe) they've stuck to the same sound for too long. I heard them live at full-moon festival in germany two years ago, and they mostly played all their old tracks with the occasional new tweak. I was rather disappointed... But for old-skool goa style, they are still the kings hehe. Enjoy Hollywood!
  10. Hey Shibalba, Really nice sounds! Great leads and a nice prominent bass and tight kick! Definitely a track thats going somewhere! Would like to hear the full version sometime. What software/hardware do you use? Good job and keep them coming!
  11. Had a listen to your track, Some very nice ideas in this track... I agree that the bass needs some more ompf and that the leads could do with a few effects/tweaks. Otherwise nicely composed
  12. Thanks for the feedback... I agree that it could be more coherent, I was more experimenting with putting together synthesizer sounds and reason sounds than anything else I'll give the theme an extra push in my next tracks!
  13. Good idea, I'll give it a go sometime... Ive been too busy making this new track. feel free to give it a listen, I'll find one of your tracks Evolutionary Telescope 96 kb (5mb) Evolutionary Telescope 192kb (10mb) Its still in the early production stages, so its still quite repetitive, but i think ive got something good going
  14. * Here is a 96kb version (5.8 mb) for those who go for speed over quality * Bubba's Bugs (96 kb)
  15. Thanks for the feedback grimoire! The track is 192kb, personally i think anything below doesnt do the music justice, but i suppose i could make another copy for those who prefer it. The track is still in progress, although im sort of starting a new one at the moment. I'll also try to spice up the melodies a bit
  16. Hey everybody, Ive been making music for roughly 5 months now, starting with fruityloops, but I quickly moved on to Reason 2.5 which ive been using since. I recently bought myself a Waldorf Q synthesizer (a real beast!) but am still in the process of figuring it out. This track is my latest attempt at combining some sounds from reason and a few tweaks from the Q. Hope you enjoy it and please give me some feedback! Bubba's Bugs 192kb Download Feel free to check out my website as well. www.vonoom.com Its in the making however, so please dont expect too much PLUR!
