1. i think if both the soundcards have digital in-outs it should be very cool.

if not , well i guess is up to the quality of the ad converters. which cards are u using??

the most difficult on these kind of configurations is to get both machines synchronized. which sequencer ar u using???

another good option when using two cpus is something like system link or fx teleport, i think u could check that option out. i dont know if it only supports vst though. for good emulations of the roland box check: audiorealism bassline and d16 phoscyon!

  2. I couldn't agree with this more...  All of my studio is hardware - no use of softsynths. I don't know, for me - there is just something about sitting down and turning a knob or moving a slider that can't replace a mouse.  That is not to say I have something against them, a tool is just a tool, I just never took the time to mess around with it.

I've used some FX plugins on Protools and they sounded awsome for audio processing, but still love my old hardware...

    Cheers.

ahhhh, they have invented something called midi controllers!!!

i would rather get a novation remote sl than most hardware synths!!

    ( i said most)

  3. What do u think based in the newest and ever changing tendencies in electronic music production of today, will bring to the average amateur home studio solutions.

Personnaly i thought DSP would be like a huge revolution, and although it has been quite succesfull i think it has finally reached its limitations, and its better to invest on a monster CPU and Memory to run Native Plugins, i was planning to buy a powercore but now ive changed my mind. Laptops are now finally becoming an option for music production , and there are so many software-hardware hybrids out there that just make me drool!!!

how u imagine homme studios say in five years!!!

  4. it looks like a good , simple to use, analog synthetizer. i would get it as i have never used a hardware synth, and this looks like a good place to start. somehow i feel that although it may sound very good, i dont think it could do some new stuff than whats been done before. i maybe wrong though, what matters it who uses it and how. the coolest feature i think is the usb connectivity. i think its sexy just to plug the usb instead of, audio, midi in , midi out, and power supply. kinda like a budget TI!!

If someone has used this one and the novation X-station , i would like to know , which is "best"!! u know what i mean.

  5. for virtual instruments and crazy effects i would go ( and i do ) with dsp discovery which is a very good emulation of nord lead 2 ( u can even import presets from the hardware unit, there are a lot around) is very easy to get fat analog fx and leads with this baby. vanguard sounds too thin, an albino is very good but it sounds thin too. try this one u wont regret it. and if thats not crazy enough for u, then get glitch free vst, this little one is a beast and crazy as hell!!!!

    ok thats just my opinionnn!!!

chheerrs mates im going for a beeer!!

  6. i use audiorealism bassline with waves Req compression, Rbass, Quadrafuzz and TC compressor. try getting the best sound out of the synth as much as u can. add subfrequencies if needed but not too much. a little distortion may also do the trick for that i use quadrafuzz which gives a nice punch. also use EQ very carefully , this is probably the most important part, to make it fit with the kick... finally the compression! i love the TC compressor!! but u may try many others, Waves C4 is also very nice... hope that helps-!!!!!

  10. I recently opened my mind to something else then Fruity Loops

I tried Cubase a bit, but i found it too akward with all the windows

    Then i tried Live 5.0.1

Now i know why everyone use this masterpiece of music making!

    LIVE FTW!

The tricks is to wrtie music in any apps, render a wav of the lead or bassline or kick, then arrange the samples in Live. I've made a remix of Talamasca - Awakening in like 5-6h and it's getting pretty darn good for a first time try!

    355846

its easy to remix the talamasca when u have all the loops done for you...

try making ur tracks from scratch using cubase sx 2 and some good plugins like

albino 2 and vanguard and then ull see the light-- cheers

  11. hey pixXxan!  :)

BUTTT! i just found out there is already a Drone artist,, heheh

so im gonna have to look for another name

  12. Hi guys hope someone can help me.. I am stuck.

ok let me put a easy example..

you create two midi tracks in cubase, you assign the same vst.. lets say.. FM7

now for each trak, you want to use a different  patch.

everty time I try this.. it will change both tracks.. is annoying.

what I been doing so far is using a different vst for each track.. but that sucks since

I want to use my fav vst's more than in one track.

    thanks.

    308608

as far as i know the only whay is to open the same vst again (run two vanguards for example an assign independent midi channels whicj may por may not have the same notes.. another choice is to export the track to audio and chande the sound in the vst.. this saves cpu bit then u cannot modify the audio and u will not saves ur sounds for later use... u can save presets anyway . welll i hope it helps
