I definitely agree with you on a lot of your points EP, but don't see what this has to do with Pop Stream in particular. Interesting discussion though, perhaps it needs a topic of its own?
And I still think Pop Stream is one of the better full on clones out there. Certainly not groundbreaking, just very enjoyable full on in my opinion

Nope, there's nothing groundbreaking in his music, and yes, he's a full on clone - but a very good one I might add!

Don't like them at all - very shallow sound, and their "classic" "Ashes To Ashes" is particularly horrible in my opinion. Didn't know it was goa by the way ... more like VERY melodic psytrance (I would personally classify it as nitzhonot).
But taste differs

I don't think they play it in their Son Kite livesets anymore; I've heard them twice in the last year, and they didn't play it in any of those sets. Marcus played it in his DJ-set at one of the parties though, and people say they played it in their Minilogue liveset at Universo Paralello.

I haven't heard the remix myself, but looking at the top10 section at isratrance (always a good source for unreleased killllllaaaaahs), it's a remix by Toxic (and as far as I know, they don't make full on).
Also, don't try to make it looks like it's a full on only phenomenon: The Vicious Spiral remixed another Britney Spears track, and Texas Faggot remixed Backstreet Boys a few years ago - also in the progressive house scene, there's loads of mainstream remixes. Some are bad, and some are actually very very good.

I don’t like most of his newer releases, but he deserves a lot of respect for doing something different.
The pie-incident was pathetic and childish by the way, and a perfect display of how narrow-minded some parts of the scene is. If the music he played “killed the vibe” it was the organizers who where to blame, certainly not him. And if you end up at a festival, and don’t like what he plays, just leave the stage and go to the chillout, your tent or some place else. Simple as that.

"Ambience" was on "The Astral Files".
I have mixed feelings about Astral Projection; they where one of the main reasons why I got an interest in goa/psy, and their first albums where all marvelous. My taste developed though - and "Dancing Galaxy" was for me a disappointment. Not at all new and interesting like my first experiences with the group, but the same old formula - and in my opinion they've continued in the same line the last many years, only improving on their production.
I do understand why many people like them though - their music is pure melodic mayhem, but I just kindda had enough back then

I think Rains description fits perfectly. For me morning-trance is mellow and uplifting music – it can be goa, progressive, full on … almost everything

Whats the point in another psynews vs. isratrance topic?
Both forums both have "genuine psychedelic trance lovers" by the way.

I mainly use isratrance – much more activity than here (which is both good an bad), and, if you manage to avoid the worst “kiiiiiiillaaaaah” threads, there’s a good bunch of interesting topics. Then there’s of course psynews.org, and a couple of Danish communities like trancetunnel.dk and electrobeat.dk.

Best: surely Highpersonic Whomen. Excellent progressive-like psytrance with lots of melodies, and just oozing with atmosphere. Also the downbeat track "Easy Does It" (which got picked up by Twisted sidelabel Backroom Beats) is a real masterpiece. Some of their sideprojects include Haltya, Outolintu and PelinPala, and while it's perhaps sounds more like the rest of the finnish artists, I think some of it is pretty good (unlike most finnish artists). Kiwa and Texas Faggot also made a few good tunes.

Yay, now the thread turned into both a "progressive vs. full on" and a "oldschool epic goatrance is da best mudic in da woooooorld new mudic sux" thread. Great.
And I still say that in my opinion "psygressive" is just a new word for progressive psytrance. Nothing more, nothing less. That being said, artists mentioned like BLT, Shakta, Tetraktys and Highpersonic Whomen all make excellent music

When I've heard the term used, it's just been instead of progressive psytrance, and not as a new term for a new style.
Do you think SHAKTA can make something similar?

I love it (as well as much of the old stuff from Shakta), but I don't think you'll ever hear something similar from him.
I am personally a huge fan of Seb Taylor, and I find him one of the few really big goa/psy artists from that time, who has continued to develop his sound and test new things, both with Shakta and his sideprojects Digitalis and Kaya Project. The Shakta latest album “Feed The Flame” is a wonderful mature progressive house/trance album (CD2 with the old singles is also a gem), and I suggest you go pick it up, even though it’s very different from the “Silicon Trip” days.
