Evgeny from Beef Records comes to Hafirot handing out prog-on candy bars for both the old and young – wednesday27/2 at 13:00 (Israel Time) Evgeny lives in Herzelia, Israel, where he has resided since migrating from the Ukraine in 1990. Evgeny discovered electronic music at a young age, but it wasn't until 2005 that he decided to start the Aero-Groove website, an electronic music site hosting sets, conducting interviews and supporting the music Evgeny digs. Not long afterwards Evgeny got hooked with the dj fever, and with the coming of 2006 he started to appear behind the decks in clubs and bars, playing progressive trance as well as indulging into other styles of electronic music. So we continue! On the next Hafirot session we will be hosting Alon Lifer aka Orca - This Wednesday 20/2 at 13:00 (Israel time). Alon has grown up around hard and dark music, spending time with his guitar and the metal scene since his early teens, influenced heavily by the various black, doom, grind and hardcore sounds. Orca also lists classics such as Pink Floyd, and experimental idm artists like Aphex Twin among his influences, leading him to discover the psytrance scene. Orca's Debut album "Fist of Fury" was just recently released at Doof Records. The album represents the influences behind Alon's project, intriguingly folding all the musical styles that have interested him into a psytrance beat. Alon will be joining us at the studio where we will be talking about his music and listening to album tracks and to some of what he has been creating since the release. Fright Rate is the dark psychedelic trance project of Seth Human which was created in the beginning of 2006. Seth began his psychedelic journey in 2000 where he attended underground events in Cape Town, South Africa. In 2003 he started djing at most of the top organised events in South Africa such as Trancegression, Alien Safari and Lunar Tech playing alongside artists such as N3xu5, Psychotic Micro, Frozen Ghost, Void, Eskimo, Skazi. Seth later started experimenting with making his own tracks, concerntrating on minimal and tech trance. Towards the end of 2005 he started becoming attracted to the more darker, faster and twisted side of trance, this is when his new vision was born. His style as he describes it is "spooky, fucked up shit for the darkest hours" with influences from artists such as Claw, Paranoize, Horror place, Kemic-al, Highko and Savage Scream to name a few. This one is bouncy and melodic compared to the other mixes. The track presents some mystery with some spacey pads and atmospheres, but the overall vibe is uplifting and trippy, like a forgotten level on a mario game. - Sickmoth's Submerge Remix (UK) Star One sickmoth remix started life as an ambient work but developed into something much more, where intricate breakbeats meld with dreamy synths and warped vocal samples to create a stomping and ever-evolving landscape. Sickmoth, based near London, has been producing eclectic electronica for almost 10 years. Fusing light with dark, ambient with industrial, his aim with each song is to take the listener on a journey that crosses genres yet ends in an original and satisfying whole. Using live drums, electric and acoustic guitars, violins, the ukulele and anything else that produces a sound worth recording, it’s music far enough from the mainstream for the discerning listener. Jamie's production style can best be described as organic - a sound lab prodigy, the tools of his craft are painstakingly modified and tweaked to produce his eclectic sound. It's been about 7 months since the release of our first compilation, and with several LP's and EP's under our belt, we felt it was time to give you a snapshot of our evolving sound. When we started the label we had the dream of creating a community of like minded artists who weren't held back by the need to pander to genre or the latest musical fad and 6 releases on that goal is a reality. The tracks on this second compilation cover a wide range of genres, and no two are alike, yet they compliment each other and flow in a way that makes this compilation greater than the sum of its parts. Faxi Nadu - Star One (Sickmoth Remix) - 4:48 Star One sickmoth remix started life as an ambient work but developed into something much more, where intricate breakbeats meld with dreamy synths and warped vocal samples to create a stomping and ever-evolving landscape. Sickmoth, based near London, has been producing eclectic electronica for almost 10 years. Fusing light with dark, ambient with industrial, his aim with each song is to take the listener on a journey that crosses genres yet ends in an original and satisfying whole. Using live drums, electric and acoustic guitars, violins, the ukulele and anything else that produces a sound worth recording, it’s music far enough from the mainstream for the discerning listener. Having produced many remixes for a diverse range of artists and genres, sickmoth is also one half of The Electrip, which early in 2007 released an acclaimed debut EP, Collideoscope, and is also drummer in UK-based punk rock band Lemon Shaft.
