I've heard good things about that pair too, but the fact remains that he asked for monitor headphones. Most people consider them good for DJ'ing, but I sure wouldn't use them for mixing.I was recently looking into the same issue and after some reserach i settled for the Senheiser's HD 25 and i couln't be happier with my purchase.
here's a good review on the hd 25i, not sure what the difference is... i'd like to think none http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=72883
My recommendation would be ATH M40Fs. According to some reviews I've read they're really great for mixing and mastering and supposedly semi-comfortable too. Sadly I have no personal experience as of yet, but I am looking into getting those.
They're 77€ on Thomann.

It does work amazingly well. I listened to a few dozen tracks or so and it started recommending some of my favourite artists. Good stuff.
It's a shame the Winamp plugin stopped functioning after a few days.

Sorry for digging this thread up from its grave, but I didn't have a chance to reply earlier. I guess you can just ignore this thread.
Just wanted to thank you guys for the feedback. It's doubtful I'll ever start producing this kind of stuff seriously, so don't hold your breath.

Trying something different for a change...
Afterdose - Stranded in the Ocean of Time
Not expecting big things from this, but it's fun to try out different things every once in a while.
Comments and feedback appreciated.
Psst... while you're at it, check out my latest dark ambient track as well. ;P

WUT.Psy(chedelic)trance Vs. Goa
Psy(chedelic)trance Vs. Full-On
Psy(chedelic)trance Vs. trance
ok ok ok ok .. mmm.. Psychedelic trance = trance music fitted for psychedelic drugs.
Psytrance = Full-On = trance made for people who likes psychedelic music, but not psychedelic drugs. ... mmno?
I don't do psychedelics and I don't like full on. Is there something wrong with me?

Is this thread still alive?

Thanks, Quark. I'll be sure to take a look at the things you mentioned and I'll surely let you know, if I get around to changing them.

Thanks, man. It's quite similar in feeling throughout the whole track, 'cause I like to think it makes it more entrancing. Guess that doesn't work, huh?hey i like you style, a bit special, but very nice! I must admit its the same and same through the track, you should focus more on variations!
This is probably something im never gonna dance to, because its way to slow. I think the theme is very chillout a-like, maybe you should try to slow it more down and get a nice chillout out of it!?!
Don't know if you've checked my other stuff, but you could say that my style is actually quite chill out-ish, so yeah, it's not exactly something that'll make you go crazy on dancefloor. I, however, did give quite a bit of thought about rhythm, so I was kinda hoping what it loses in tempo it makes up for in groove.
If all goes well, though, I'll be releasing chill out stuff in 2006, so turning it into a chill out track would work as well.

Here, have another soft and melodic morning track.
http://personal.inet.fi/urheilu/fsf/Afterd...Notherrealm.mp3
So, here's the thing: I've been sending some of my stuff around in hope of getting something released. Of course, that doesn't happen. Apparently my stuff isn't dancefloor oriented (read: KILLAARGH ) enough. Being the sell out I am, I'm of course trying to make something with a bit more emphasis on rhythm and bass. So, now you can actually hear the bass.
What I want to know is am I crazy for thinking it's possible to get this kinda stuff released in this day and age? Or should I just turn into another full on GMS clone? Any other kind of feedback appreciated as well.
Comments, opinions, flames?

O gno. Another Square fanboy.
*clubs cryion with a seal*
...shit. I think I killed it.
Seriously though, I uploaded a track with VG inflences to the music making section, but no one gave a shit. I'm hurt. I also made a psy mix of Kabuki Quantum Fighter's first stage music, but I'm too embarassed to even listen to it these days. I'm kinda surprised it was accepted to OCRemix.

I've written a few I'd be willing to share, but I lost them in a hard drive crash just recently. If you don't care about the source though, you could always browse through OCRemix (a site dedicated to remixing videogame music ), there are quite a few orchestral tracks there.

Sorry, I can't vote in this poll.
It lacks of proper options. Such as "well, duh".

Well, I am gonna make it longer.best I've heard on here so far, nice melodies and sounds. a good complete song
maybe you could put a little break somewhere in the second part of the song, that would be nice.
maybe you can scoop the bass a little with an equalizer at the 250Hz frequency. I heard it makes it sound less 'muddy'
So, the bass is muddy? I wouldn't know, since I use headphones, but I'll look into that.

I usually don't post WIPs, but I'm making an exception, because I'm not completely sure about many things in this track. I had it almost finished, but decided to scrap almost half of it.
It's pretty heavy on low end, and the overall volume level is pretty low, so feel free to crank up the volume.
Well, what do you think? Does it have any potential?

Haha, I had no idea. Well, thanks for the heads up. Guess I'll have to change my name then, eh?That track sounds good at a first glance man, well worked. & as 'Subsonik' said not really full-on, which is a compliment ; ).
Don't wanna spoil your mood here, but there's already a psy act named Acid Lab, though not the same spelling as yours (except from this cover where it seems to be one long word) so maybe that is ok...
EDIT: Yah, changed my artist name. Check the first post. Wouldn't let me change the topic title though.

Couldn't sleep last night, so I spent some time reading up on the latest government mind control devices. Afterwards I wrote this little song to educate the public about the dangers of mind control rays and how to avoid their harmful effects.
Before listening make yourself a classically stylish tin-foil hat by following the simple instructions below:
Now, listen to the track posted below at peace knowing that you're safe from the government mind control.
