haha...same here. Got me into electronic music. But nowadays I think it's cheesey over the top. And I think they have never evolved one tiny bit ^^

this album is a true masterpiece.

I see...hope you will have some free time again in the near future.

in my opinion yahel takes the cake.
Most of his covers are just...hilarious in a way
edit: Oh I posted this one in the wrong thread.
My reply belongs to the "bad album cover" thread.
Sorry

Hi people...
I'm in search of further artists producing the following psytrance style.
I really dig those long dark atmospheric surface like sounds. Hard pumping bassline with wicked synth leads.
And sad and melancholic melodies.
Examples : Dark Soho - The 14th; Abomination - Fallen; Manifold - Doom, Shizzo; Scorb - Rave from the Grave;
To nail it more pricesly:

1. Track - Beginning at 20sec.
Hope you can help me. Thanks

+1 for this one. I discovered Quadra on the otherwise-forgettable Delicious compilation. Mostly it's ho-hum stuff but then I noticed that all the tracks I liked were either by Quadra or remixed by him. So I took a chance on this disk and it's more of the same: energetic full-on with good sounds, tight production and minimal cheese.
Recommended for full-on lovers.
Yesss, pretty full on.
His newer stuff although is way too cheesy. Sad

Some people will complain that this isn't psy anymore. Actually their right.
But who cares.
Neelix music has a housy and clubby feel to it. But I have never heard any other artist doing such
fat groovy beats. Let's see how this will turn out

Making music without drugs is like mixing your tracks on only one set of speakers. Just like a mix has to sound good in your monitors, your car, your brothers hifi speakers and your grandmothers radio. It has to sound good on all sorts of drugs, especially PCP! Dust is a must when making music!
lol, yea PCP!

samples are great...waiting for the europe release

hey antic.
The new EVP is out.
Are you going to review the CD?
-
i don't like much of the modern dark psy.
But this one is a class of its own.
And I think it is penta's best album so far.

Between this, Indigo Egg, and Colourform, this is the 3rd Matt Hillier release in a year no? And all three albums are old material that he has basically cleaned up and released - does he need money or something?
I'm a little sceptic as well. Psyshop says it was written one year before the awesome orchid album. I'm waiting for a review.

I love that trashy cover art

this is really an awesome album.
The track "sol invictus" leaves me speechless.
-
nice review I was waiting for this since you reviewed a lot of wild things rec. releases.
I agree with your opinion. I like the distinct wild things sound and the cool sound manipulation.
Though, in most tracks there is just too little development. No proper story is told.
So this album tends to get boring after some listens.
But it sure is better than the average full on.

heard the track deadroom this WE on a party. What a massive track! Love it.
