Promotext:
"Once upon a time in a far distant land, a land where the only colors of life were black and white, a land where laughs and smiles were forbidden and where clowns were sent to dungeons, a land where life had to obey strict rules and where amusement was controlled by a militia, lived a little girl, Eleanor."
Timecode presents the bright new spark of the psychedelic night scene: Principles of Flight. After the world-wide acclaim for their first album, Night Time Lullabies (2006 BooM! Records), Principles of Flight have decided to further explore the idea behind this release, and work on an extraordinary concept album entitled Chaos Opera.
Remy, 24, and Pierre, 26, have developed a unique blend of tech-trance rhythms, psychedelic groove, and night time landscapes which can best be described as "psytechno", and which has been praised by trancers around the world. As new ambassador of the prestigious South African label Timecode, Principles of Flight have reached an incredible level of production and composed a true masterpiece which goes far beyond just music.
With almost two year of intensive design, Chaos Opera is far more mature than its predecessor. It tells the story of Eleanor and Edward, two twins living in a colorless world, and the incredible journey which Edward undertakes to look for his sister in the Land of the Dead. A whole world came out of the imaginations of Pierre, Remy, and Nicolas Delort, the artist behind Chaos Opera's visual universe.
Chaos Opera comes in a luxury digipack triptych with a virtuoustically illustrated 24 page booklet which contains both English and Japanese translations of Pierre Delort's original Chaos Opera story.
Tracklist (chapters):
01 Into the Lands of Black and White
02 Chaos Opera
03 The Queen of the Dead (feat. Talpa)
04 Eleonor's Theme
05 Cerberus
06 Charon the Ferryman
07 The Tavern, The Rebels, And The Secret Oath
08 A Gruesome Plan
09 The Black Mass
10 Edward to the Rescue!
11 The Chase
12 A Colorful End

new school, old school, goa school, psy school.... blablablabla... just fucking music
-
if there where articles of damion psyreviews, YES... but if there where articles similar to the ones in mushroom mag... :wank:
-
yo,
to those interested we just updated our myspace with the release info of the album and some new samples
http://www.myspace.com/principlesofflight
peace
-
well ill hope you'll think they do. for us at least it's the case, we both think NTL sounds like a joke next to it
anyway when we upload all the samples i think you'll be able to make a proper judgment... AND something else that is quite cool there is a track with Talpa :posford: and it's seriously fucked up
-
maybe i should have said just emotion is far of what we are trying to accomplish... we are both left brainers, so maybe we can't get any emotion out
sorry
-
Well, it's really really really different... Don't expect anything anything near NTL, of course it still sounds POFish if i might say, but more mature and original, and the production is way better.
What we will try to do with each album is kinda like a movie is done, each of the story's are completely independent from each other with new characters, etc... so each album will have a different sound of some sort, but still with our vibe.
anyway that's the concept we will follow, if there will be more albums after this one...
-
well... you gonna hate the new album for sure... it's way more techy, way more...
emotion on the beat parts is far from what we are trying to accomplish, no offense mate but if i want emotions idd watch Oprah
-
well then you can buy a new copy each time one gets broken it's called smart marketing...
-
New track coming in the new Timecode compilation.
POF and Timecode.... God does exist!
well your in for a treat, the 2nd album will be released on Timecode also... and we are preparing something massive with them, digipack, 24page booklet, crazy amount of illustrations and story is in english and japanese... enough said...
-
hehehe.. tnx
-
It's on New Blood II. I have heard it, so far it's only "ok", but I will give it a few more listens.
I think that for ppl that got used to NTL will be in a bit of a shock at 1st when they hear this track. But when it comes to dj's i have to say this is the tracks that have had the most positive feedback of any of our releases, it's very dj friendly.
-
some new art, thought i might share
-
I have a really broad taste too, but Duvdev must shut the fuck up! You're not a singer, stop pretenting being one.
amen to that
-
Well if people didn't believe that Goa or Classical (or anything else) is the best why listen to that music in the first place?
Because good music is good music no matter what genre it is and there is no need to compare genres cause what is good for you will always be shit for someone else... you know taste and colors... so what is the best musical genre is actually a point less debate...
One point though where i think goa/psy can be compared to classical music, is that on the 1st listen they both are hard to like, at least for me... I remember the 1st time i heard Astral Projection i didn't like it at all, same with Chopin...
-
Yes. Classical music is 160bpm, with killar basslines, a 4-to-the-floor beat and has many drug-related sound samples in it. It is also structured exactly the same, and the people dont actually play the instruments, they just press a button and the modulated sounds come out of a speaker. There is also a lot of reverb and LFOs in Classical music to create a nice wobble bass. Classical music does sometimes overuse the Glitch VST though. Classical music also only takes about 5 hours to compose.
the only resemblance i can find between both sides is that people that listen to this kind of music are elitists and have a tendency to think that they listen to the "best musical style" :wank:
-
Take a big penis and stick it up your asshole you fucking cunt!
I hate you, I hate the bold motherfucker singing bad english, i hate supervisors, and I hate DJMag100!
-
Production quality, Originality, Sound Design, Composition, Homogeneity while still keeping the tracks different (for albums)
No need to say no one gets 5/5 with me, except maybe Posford
-
Yeah maybe somewhere down the line your right.

I would like to point out that 2 different versions of this album will be released.
CD Version - Released 24th April
contains 12tracks (all the tracks mixed togheter)
Digital Version [Extended Versions] - Released 28th April on Beatport
contains 8tracks (meant for Dj's)
Basicly the extended versions contains only the 8 dancefloor tracks of the album, and we have made them longer in the begining and at the end so that they can be mixed much more smothly.
Only 4days before the CD version is released :posford:
