I think that at first it was ambient house because they sampled some traditionally house vocals ("Loving you, is easy 'cause you're beautiful..") and because Alex and the other members had done some house work before. In the end though, history sees them as chill out/downtempo with lots of dub. I've never heard anyone call them industrial. (Can't really understand why someone would). As for recommendations, my personal favorite is Orbus Terrarvm for sheer variety. It's got piano sections, dubby sections, and a completely shroomy last track about slugs eating farmers vegetables.
