Hey,

I've been making music with just softsynths and stuff for about a year, i'd say my music is proffessional and quite evolved as far as melodies and structure, but i want to begin producing in a way that my sound quality will be on par with the artists i listen to,

Any advice on how to get some equipment with a modest budget than can get me rollin would be most appreciate

peace

Well first if I was you I would consider to buy a ok quality mixer (A used mackie or similar) and some ok monitors (used yamaha ???) .....that will always improve your sound....also try to avoid using too many plugin synths and plugin effects.....they do not have the same quality as a real hardware synth / effects machines....

It is hard to say exactly what you should buy....first I do not know your budget and second I dont know what you allready have....so I suggest you look on the web and in music gear magazines for used products.....that way you can avoid spending too much money on the studio....

Read the reviews and make up your own mind.... have fun :-)

a: Get yourself a high quality soundcard ( Not a game soundcard )

b: Put your money into a good mixer, try it before you buy it.

c: Buy some nice monitors: try them before you buy them.

d: Make shure that the room you're using doesn't affect your mixing ( echoes and stuff like this ).

This is what you need:

1. Good mixer

2. Juno 106 (for the bass)

3. Sampler (for drums or whatever you want to sample)(Emu makes good samplers))

4. Nord Lead

5. Some FM synth or something (Yamaha SY/TG synths are good for fm)

6. Efx (a good reverb is important)
