It's a crying shame that what used to be such a great label back in the day has been reduced to it's current state. I used to always check out their releases, but now I see an album or compilation by them and without fail it's the same uninspired recycled crap. Sad. Even by regular full on standards, the artists they showcase/release are usually not that good.

It seems now that Dragonfly is the only remaining old label that ever releases anything I ever want or consider buying.

How things change.

What happened to Psy-Trance???

The only releases I touch are mid-90's when the music had the true spirit. New releases don't make my mouth water like the older ones.

Those were the days.

Any unknown entity with a few soft-synths, Cubase and a computer setup can produce pretty decent Psy-Trance now with ease. Everything is so cold and digital these days.

Of course parties are still parties, even though I will have to travel a long way to experience a good one!

I was mainly commenting on the feel of the music.

Maybe the spaseness of 'minimal' works better on a large speaker system, rather than the business of full-on Goa Trance. In the first place it was the complexity and detail within the music that got me hooked.

"In the first place it was the complexity and detail within the music that got me hooked." So true. But, like Krize says, it's not all bad. You really can find some good stuff out there, you just have to look harder. Infact, I'd even go so far as to say that just as much good stuff is released now as in the 90's, just much more extra crap is released all around it. Not every release is something to look forward to like before.

Yeah there is so much crap ou tnow, it's such a sad waste of a scene, even Astral Projection's latest stuff is really poor by their standards... if you buy a cd now you get maybe 1 goodish track and the rest is just recycled shite...

on that not check out the following link for some great tracks that are free to download form the artists... absolute crazy madness!!

Has Astral released anything since Amen?

For me, I think people like Eskimo, Dick Trevor and even Absolum are really getting good new ideas out. Its wonderful getting inspiration from the latest new tracks. Always looking for something different and something new. :)

I look forward to the future of Psy-Trance!

I agree, it ain't all that bad.

"Has Astral released anything since Amen?"

they did actually, although you'd probably be better off if you never listened to it... it's a colaboration with Dynamic, on Raveolution 2

the last worthwhile release from Phonokol for me was Dynamic's first album back when the "normal" iraeli full-on sound was just comming out, now it all sounds the same, even Dynamic fell low...

However things at Phonokol aren't as bad as over at TIP Records IMO ;)
