DJ Banel, with more than 20 years of DJ experience, is the long time DJ-alias of Michael Abel-Larsen - one of the founders of Iboga Records, and part of projects Behind Blue Eyes and Fabel. Back in the early days of the electronic music scene in Denmark in the middle of the 90's he was part of the now legendary organizer-crew Rotundum before starting Iboga Records in 1998. Much has happened since then, but the quest for good music is still an important part of his life - both as a producer, DJ and label-manager, and this compilation is a good example of this; Strong tunes crossing boundaries between techno, progressive house and progressive trance. Techno and tech house heavyweights like Christian Smith, Dyno, Khainz, Phunk Investigation are joined by artists like Perfect Stranger, Lish and Yotopia, whose sound can best be described as a forward-thinking mixture of psychedelic trance, techno and progressive house. Finally there are also hints to the psychedelic trance roots of Iboga Records with artists like Gaudium, Captain Hook (solo-project of Reshef Harari from Quantize) and the newly reborn project Fabel providing massive progressive tunes.
