Time Slices 02. Perceptor Review: This is one of the earliest releases by Hux Flux but I don´t think it sounds that old. I found my copy just by luck when it allready was a classic so I´m very pleased to have it in my collection. If you haven´t heard it yet, then you´ll have something to search for! Good luck! You´ll need it ;-) People who owns this gem won´t sell it if they´re still sane enough to understand its value. The a-side, "Time Slices" (10/10), is really a true nightstormer with some spooky horrorfeeling. Those ghostlike sounds will scare the shit out of you if you aren´t prepeared for them, and there is enough energy in this track to run a small town. If we only could find some other composers just as skilled as Dennis Tapper... then the world wouldn´t have an energyproblem anymore ;-) When this record was released Hux Flux was = Dennis Tapper alone, atleast that´s what I´ve heard. The b-side, "Percetor" (9/10), got it too!!! This is the kind of track you play last in your set to really disturb the next dj. He or she will have to play some really hard and nasty stuff to continue in the same spirit. There´s something different with this record compared to the newer Hux Flux tracks and that´s the melody. The newer tracks often got just a beat and then lots of crazy sounds on top, but this ep is much more melodic but not att all in a cheesy way. More pronounced bassline, cooler theremin (spooky) sounds and just that little something that makes you wanna run around in a maze eating ghosts and pills all day...
