I love this ep too!!! I currently play "After Dark" in all my sets. Just love

that scratchy synth at the end of the track. "The Year 83" is also good but

kind of repetitive and relies too heavily on those sirens. 8/10

Artist: Sesto Sento

Title: The Year 83 / After Dark

Label: Shiva Space Technology

Date: 2002

Track listing:

01. The Year 83

02. After Dark

Review:

Great release from this talented bend and excellent vinyl for the parties.

Sesto Sento appears on lot of compils nowadays but these two tracks here are

the best I think. If you like some fast kickass music this is for you. Great

full on dancefoor music. (t1) Great driving bass line with psychedelic

scratches everywhere. Fast full on tune. (t2) Another great full on tune. Good

hi-hats combined with lots of energy. Great for DJs. Buy this ASAP. I give

9.0/10

Think this is an average EP, nothing special... But it doesn't mean that it

sucks! Agree with Z-Man that it sounds like it has been made with software,

and I don't like that cuz it's sounds so easy and without feelings (What am I

talking about?)... 6/10

Night time stuff here, not bad. Quite simple in it's mechanics. Track 1

obviously is better than track 2, which overdoes it a bit on the siren part.

Sesto Sento integrates easily into most DJ sets, so this one is a good

addition to a set. Production here could've been

better, more clearer, but as it stands these gritty sounds suit the tracks at

hand. 7/10 for this release. The album'll be like this too I reckon. Sesto

Sento just does what it wants to do, create simple layered tracks with

relentless bassline and kickdrum toppled with samples and occasionaly a

melody. Let's await the album and see!
