Review:

I should have reviewed this records months ago but I haven´t. Perhaps

because I´m not so excited about it? This is the first release from SUB

MACHINE RECORDS, a new french label, but I had hopes that it would be

better? The first release from a new label is usually a killer but this

one is pretty boring. I´m surprised that they chose this release to be

the very first one. "Strange" (4/10) is extremely grinding. The track

seems like it´s going on forever and it´s the same loop over and over

and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. I

like the beat but this kind of monotonous music has to really get to you

at once to be really good. If you like the loop you´ll love the track

but if you don´t... well then it´s crap I´m afraid. "Excess End" (5/10)

is also a very monotounous and grinding track but I like it a bit more

than "Strange". It´s more energetic and pumping but to be really honest

it´s not that interesting either. This record is for people who love

static music and I´m not usually one of those people even though I like

monotonous music. I like static music that´s hypnotic but this one isn´t

hypnotic enough for me.

Well, unlike my friend stormbringer I enjoyed this one - heavy and quite dark

as well as monotonous yet far more exciting than X V Kilist and such artists.

It's not spectacular but it's one of my favourite "minimalist" trance singles.

If you enjoy Plastic Park releases this is certainly for you. Also check out

release 4 on Sub Machine - I got my copy yesterday and that one is VERY

intense with lots of stuff going on yet never losing it's pumping, chugging

style.
