Guest strou[at]mail[dot]tele[dot]dk
V/A - Monarchie Artist: Various Title: Monarchie Label: Zillion Mental Anarchie Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 08'20" Yumade : Still Smack Pool 02. 07'41" Reefer Decree : Elusive 03. 09'02" Planet BEN : Heavy Mental 04. 07'15" Tripiatrik : I Am Sysex 05. 08'13" Paps : Phrifuzzbuzz 06. 06'30" Shazbatt : No Strings Attached 07. 08'22" Saiko-Pod : Groovious 08. 08'23" Loopus In Fabula : Kaktus (Rmx) 09. 07'55" Quixatik : Sproing Review: Killer comp. here from the Greek label Zillion Mental Anarchie. This is their second release and it just gets better and better. The cd is packed with really good and very groovy tracks. If your into stuff from Creamcrop and Iboga(both Danish labels) this cd will ROCK your stereo. I've hardly listened to anything else since I got this one. It starts out with Yumade. Not a typical Yumade track in my opinion but more slow and very very groovy. After that it's Reefer Decree and those Danes just kick ass. The rest holds the same high standards and I'm sure that I'll be listening to this for a long time. If your a sucker for Scando and French music.....this is it. Guest GlobalSteez
This is indeed an excellent compilation from a label that was new to new. I'd be interested in hearing their 1st release that the guy mentions above. Didn't care too much for the Yumade track which opens it up or Saiko-Pod's track either for some reason but the rest is another story. Reefer Decree's track is immense as is the awesome 'Heavy Mental' by psy-tech-trance god Planet BEN I also enjoyed the Paps and Shazbatt efforts greatly aswell. Quixotik are really an alias of Quirk and sees them return to glorious And bonkers form with 'Sproing' after their (in my opinion) rather poor 'Sale of the Century' 12" release. Not too bizarre this track though and a suitable end for a class album. A Completely psychedelic album and nice and far removed from any Goa cliches or annoying paranoid acidic squeaky sounds. 9/

DeathPosture
Ehh yeah... I'd really like to say that I *DIG* this compilation, but the truth is, that I've only really listened to it 3-4 times in the 4-5 months I've had it... Saiko-Pod ROXX though.... Collecting dust right now... Dunno why, I usually like this style... Perhaps I'll listen to it some more, and come back with a fuller review... For now: 6/10 Bom shankar! Guest Ubik
Yes, ZMA is a promising new label, this is a strong release, with a couple of killers. I love the yumade track, very nice percussion work and the end is amazing. Heavy Mental starts very well, but after some minutes, it gets boring I think. Tripiatrik and Paps have made some very good song here, with killer bassline and fx. Shazbatt is nice. Saikopod track sounds a lot like a universal mind remix, but it's very well done, with the usual psychopod tricks. Sproing is nice, too. 8/
