Space Tribe - Live And Let Live

Artist: Space Tribe

Title: Live And Let Live

Label: Spirit Zone

Date: 2001

Track listing:

01. Live And Let Live

02. Kicking Up Some Dust

Review:

Ahh, Olli Wisdom. It's good to see someone's still cranking out

hyperflourotrance in this age of minimalism and breakbeats. 'Kicking up some

dust' is a fine tune, starts with loads of NASA samples and just kicks off

from there really... You should know what to expect from the illustrious

Space Tribe and this certainly doesn't disappoint. 8/10. The flip is also

good except for another Sample Overuse Syndrome (I even have my suspicions

that it's Olli himself speaking) but once again it's full on happy bouncy

flouro trance nonetheless... 5/10 (coz I hate S.O.S. ;) )

I like this EP. Sure, it's a tad cheesy if compared to the most dark and

sinister stuff out there, but in my opinion Ollie Wisdom makes far more

interesting full-on stuff that what's been coming out of 3D Vision recently.

These two tracks are *very* full-on with awesome kickdrum and ripping sounds.

The plentiful supply of high frequencies made me happy too, those are

neglected much too often these days of minimalism. This isn't exactly

innovative, but it IS different from his sound 3-4 years ago (and it's a good

differance) and it's very well done in my opinion. 7/10 from me, would have

gotten more with a little less sample-overuse and if it was a tad more

innovative. Still not bad at all. Really recommended for every fan of

full-speed-ahead FX & ripping synth line psy.

The two tracks are too much a like the last couple of albums, but I really

enjoy "Live And Let Live", although the melody could be a little longer.

Though, still a great track. "Kicking Up Some Dust" is a little more neutral,

but also a great Space Tribe track. A long with that, Space Tribe always seems

to do a extras out of the covers, and the cover for this single is smooth

looking! 7/10
