Review:

Aah, the next Iboga comp, and so soon after the Digiboga project, Cross Link.

I stick the cd into my player, and drift into lala land for a while. The

sounds I hear are not the usual Iboga minmal approach, but leaning more onto

the full on side of things. I'm not talking GMS here, I mean, progressive,

with full on touches. It is the most full on release Iboga have ever dared.

The CD starts of with Ethnoscope, and as the song suggests, it is dance as low

as you can to evade the bass frequencies, stealth mode style. A very good

intro, to this very interesting comp. Number two is the title song to Mino's

new album fly. Nothing new, but welcome here. Mr 'Bus' Gus Til, comes back

with 4 those about 2 Trance, which is a really good, rocking prog tune, and is

the main focus on the LP version of this release. Orion comes on strong with

Reactivated, but is one of the weaker songs here. Nuclear Ramjet bring their

usual Canadian Tech madness with Evolution. Another song which has been

released before recently is BLT - Froggy Business, and is one of the tunes of

summer. Electric Vendetta starts off with a hilarious sample, and carries the

theme all the way through the track. Excellent tune, always brings a smile to

my face. Then on to my favourite song on the comp, POTS - Mind Modulator.

This is a Funken grooven, prog tune, German style. Ultra slick, esp with the

bass during the song. 10/10 for this song alone. Then on to Reefer Decree

with 5th Bell Street, changing their style a bit, but still accessible to

Reefer fans.

All in all, and excellent, and surprising comp from Iboga. This one is well

worth having, and I will give it a glorious 8.5/10.

Indeed, quality stuff from Iboga here. Tribal like progressive mix greatly with

some darker full on stuff like Orion/Mino and this just holds up real well as

a great compil. Iboga seems to be on a roll nowadays, and I for one am

pleased. I hope Nuclear Ramjet will bring out their next cd on a label that's

supported by psyshop, since I really love their style. 9/10 for this comp.
