Review:

These 2 cds are very nice and dark. The first two tracks on cd 1 are the worst

tracks, then

it's suddenly the change of the form of music. Now more darker and heavier

tracks comes. Etnica have made

a new track, and I think it's different from what they usually do. More

underground feeling over it.

Then Psychaos, Space Tribe, Tripster and Cydonia take completely over. With

fast and very dark trance

they turn upside down with the melodies. In fact, it seems like they never get

out of inspiration.

I have to say that this record is predominated by Joti Sidhu and Dino Psaras

who are in lots of groups here.

The next cd starts so amazingly. You could play from track 1-4 without

breaking. Such a nice mix, and so

dark. April Fools is one of the darkest track I have ever heard. You gotta get

this compilation, it's a masterpiece!

Maybe the best of all Distance To Goa-comps!! The first 2 songs are NOT good,

but from there on it all starts... Song 3 is really great and song 4 is even

better "Hypnotising Mind Altering Drugs"... I love this sample AND this

song... And after this it are all véry good songs... Space Tribe, Tripster,

Cydonia... they all cick ass!! :o))

In this CD I also love the mixed CD... (I usually don't) Specially song 5 And

6!! (Song 6 is awesome... It's made by Dick Trevor and a friend... and it's

the up to date Green Nuns-style!! :o))) The only bad song in CD2 is number 9

from Koxbox!! But this is indead a masterpiece!! 8,5/10 Bom Shankar

I just bought the thing, skipped the first 2 songs and went to heaven and only

landed minutes ago when my soundsystem said: ' Its done now'. Damn what a cd.

I have distance to goa 3,4,5 but this must be the best compilation I've heard

in years.

My favourites are Space Tribe's ' Out There In The Universe' and the Manic (

D.Trevor)' Meltdown'

The only songs I dont like are all on cd1. The first 2 and the last song from

Manmademan dont fit this compilation. Cd2 is indeed more psytechno, but I

think there is nothing wrong with that. Distance, please keep these comin'.

9/10 ( i wont let the two first songs ruin this ) :-)

I disagree with the fella above who says that cd1 is all bad.And I must agree

with the bloke saying that cd2 is more techno-oriented than trancy. Not that I

like techno,no..its just that some of the songs on cd2 are too

much cut&paste and with no structure. However, after hearing some tracks by Dark

Soho,I reckon they have a big thing coming in psy-trance. Cd1 starts of with

an annoying song that doesn't belong anywhere, except the

dustbin.Second song from Le MaR is funky, more house-oriented song which works

well on the dancefloor (due to its steady and monoton rythm).Shakta's song is

ok,but a bit boring. I loved Shakta before, but now it feels like

predictable-straight goa with that catchy tune in all the right

places. However, Space Tribe kicks off a audiovisual party that dives into the

night with the beautiful track by ManMAdeMan. And by the way,Etnica's

"Mind Altering Drugs" is the BEST song on this compiliation. What a trippy song.

Grading: 8/10

I forgot to say Tripsters ' Hypnotwist' is the best song on this compilation

together with fluoro-neuro Space Tribe.

What? Two first songs on CD 1 are bad? Well, I like almost any electronic

genre, so the first songs are good also. Very good even. While listening to

the first track, try taking the beat inside your body. When the laser-turret

;) sound comes and gives the beat a nice add, it's really great to dance this

song. Just give it a chance! You'll love it. It's also a nice song to start a

party with.

Why the hell has no-one mentioned the wizzy noise track?

This is how its meant to be, and if any jerk calls that minimal, I think they

need help. Just listen for gods sake!!!

Disc two might not be to trance but it blast the living daylights out of you.

Damn the beats are tight, the sounds are wicked and diverce and it just keeps

on pumping your brain in to hyper-active dark spots that lie far and away in

regions not easily entered and certainly not easily left. Disc one is also

quite good but kicks off the wrong way with earth nation and gabriel. the rest

of the disd one most certanly rules and the track from manmademan is a treu

masterpiece. I also don,t agrre with anoebis on koxbox, i think the song is

nice and smooth and comes down on you like rain on the end of a long hot

day(dance!?). I rate the whole CD a 9/10 because i pretend like the first two

number on disc one do not exist.

1st 2 trax on cd1 have no buisness being on a Goa compilation. If

I want to expand my horizons,i'll take some 'shrooms or experiment with

homosexuality;better that than having THIS shoved up my bum.Dosn't matter

wether the trax are good or not, they should have been put on "distance to

various".I don't approve of this false advertising/mislabeling;the collection

may redeem itself, but I would have prefered a shorter collection inside a more

honest album cover.

Average compilation....First CD is not that good, for me at least, first 2

songs do nothing for me....Between worlds is a classic and etnica song is not

bad....Psychaos song is good but the rest is just average...The second CD is

mixed by Joti Sidhu and it is rather better than the first CD...It is mixed

well and the choice of songs are good...All in all : CD 1 : 5.5/10 CD 2 :

7.5/10...

I'll admit that the first two tracks on CD 1 are not psy trance and don't

really belong on a "goa" compilation, but that doesn't mean they are bad

tracks. Like Jussi, I am also open to all forms electronica and I think they

are both good tracks in their own right, especially the first one (except for

that horrid sample). The second one not so much. I REALLY love the mix by

Joti Sidhu too... One of the best psy-oriented mixes I've ever heard.
