Review:

This new act from Greece is something that words cannot describe. It's very

rare to see an album that fits together so perfectly and yet is so varied.

It starts off slow, chilling. The mood reminds me of Saafi Brothers. Very

lush sounds, a bit of echoes here and there and cosmic synths playing

melodies that just give you shivers all over. 9/10 I would say.

Then comes the second track - a continuation of the mood - Defend, which is

a bit less lush, a bit more dark, a little faster, but still very chilling.

8/10 I would say.

The third track - Porno Promo - is named very strangely. It would suggest

something a bit harsh, but it's still a continuation of the chillout part

of this release. Again a little faster, a little more dynamic than the one

before - this one really reminds me of Saafi Brothers. The main melodic

line based on portamento is like some kind of a creature calling your from

the deep. Gives me shivers all over. 9/10.

The fourth track - Oop - is much darker than the first three and more

dynamic. Time Warp really builds the mood on this release extremely well.

I've never heard anything so well arranged yet. This is definitely a dark

track, but the rhythm section is not too agressive. The background synth

reminds me of... Dead can Dance. The second part of the album generally

seems to be very much influenced by 80s cold wave. Some goa-ish melodies

come in a bit later, but they fit together perfectly with the whole mood.

9/10 again.

The fifth track - EAS - is a final bridge between the first (chillout) part

of the relese and the second (trance) middle part. Very pure at the

beginning, very little extra sound except for the harsher, faster rhythm

section. The end-part of this track is again goa-ish with harsher melodies.

I find this probably the weakest track on the whole album, but I'll still

give it an 8/10 since it fits perfectly to the whole mood and fits

perfectly in

You are now perfectly prepared for the sixth track - Knuv8 which is, like

EAS, trance. It's a bit similar to the previous track, at the beginning

very pure and then more psy- than goa-ish. Gives me shivers like most of

the tracks on this album. 8/10 again.

And now. For the culmination... Track 7 - Acid Baba. I'm speechless. I have

no words to describe what this track does to me. Starts off again very

pure, minimalistic I'd even say. Probably the harshest bassline on the

whole record. Aggressive hi-hats. But then, around the 4th minute of this

track, something happens... The synth that reminds me of Dead Can Dance

comes again. This time much stronger than in Oop. Plays chords with cold

wave harmonies. It's acompanied by a goa-ish melody played with a very

similar sound but a little higher (and with lots of echo). And then, when I

thought this couldn't get any better, around 5:20 again something

happens... The track gets a bit more simple. The synth starts playing a

melody... A melody that makes me want to scream!!! I'm shivering all

over!!! Even though I've listened to this track something like 30-40 times

before writing this review, every time I hear it I can't believe my ears!

An absolute masterpiece in mood creation!!! this is 100/10, it's off the

scale, it's AMAZING!

After the culmination there is only one thing to do. Chill. And that's what

Time Warp does just ad you'd expect to! Perfect selection of tracks, the

album is amazing as a whole, like one big creation made of small

masterpieces. The 8th track - Sound of Mars is definitely chilling. But not

like the first, rather dark part of the CD. Much more like the old

psy-chillout stuff from Total Eclipse or Astral Projection. It lets you

relax after what you've gone through listening to Acid Baba... 9/10 for

perfect placement and great mood.

The final, 10th track - More and More, is a continuation of the chillout

end-part. Slower than Sound of Mars, with almost no drums, it surprises you

by a... jungle bass. Deep, fast but fitting perfectly with the rest.

Another masterpiece... 9/10 at least.

It's strange that this album does not really sound like Time Warp's first

two tracks from i.Loops (first Loopsnoo release). It's not as deep, as

progressive, as harsh. But I must say that even though I liked the first

two tracks by Time Warp, Anima Mundi is an absolute masterpiece. I never

expected this album to be so good. This is by far the best trance album

I've heard in a very long time. An absolute 10/10.

Glad you guys like the review and glad that those who listened to it are of a

similar opinion :). One thing I thought I would add as this just came to me

suddelny... This album is like making slow love to someone very close... At

first it's delicate, lush, like experiencing every touch... then it gets

faster, deeper up to the culmination point which is Acid Baba (BTW "baba" in

Polish - my native language - means "woman" ;))). And then after the

culmination you just chill down, relax, lay down together holding one

another... Sorry if anyone's offended by this comparison but this is how it

feels to me ;]

Very interesting. Kind of reminds me of Fuenf D and Eternal Basement, but then

not. The slow start to the album threw me off a bit. But once I'd listened

to the whole album through, I was in love.

The cover also reminds me of the first Syncro album on TIP. Nice and trippy.

(The joint I had before didn't help, cos it took me a while to find the track

listing lol)

Well worth it. Make mine Loopsnoo.

one of my favourite chill albums. sounds minimalistic at first ear, but it

isn't at all. there's so much in it! the album evolves like a gauss curve,

starting easily, building up slowly, going over a climax and then slowing down

again. perfect mix! my favourite moment is in track is 2, when the beat falls

in: this moment is just perfect! all tracks are super, fits on every moment.
