Guest Jarsimahairio Posted January 31, 2003 Share Posted January 31, 2003 In Bangkok, Om Trance bar on Silom Soi 7 used to have good banging psy, mostly on fridays and saturdays. It's quite a club-like environment but like I said for pure aural bliss it can be very good. Haven't visited the place for a year so don't know, I'd assume it's still the same. Club DDM in Banglamphu (Thanon Rambutri) has occassional psy-nights with DJ-guests from around the globe. Not psy but a very nice club to visit is the new "Bed" on Sukhumvit Soi 11. The building looks like an UFO and is packed with beautiful people (which is always nice). Then on Koh Pha-Ngan, there's a party appr. 2-3 times a week, in locations around the island. Songthaew (taxi of sorts) -drivers are always in the know regarding these parties, so just ask and thou shall be answered. The place called Backyard on a cliff overlooking Haat Sri Kaen-Teng near the eastern tip of Rin-peninsula has psy-parties on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays, and after the FMP they have the psychedelic after-party. I think it's ok but some people dislike the place heavily, go see for yourself. If you're carrying a collection of psy-cds with you and intend to visit Koh Chang, then by all means go stay at the Porn's Bungalows on Hat Kaibae... They have a nice outdoors bar there and they'll let you DJ (with very rudimentary equipment if you ask the bartender nicely (A guy called Hui, with huge rastas and a healthy taste for mary jane .
