  1. one for kick, one for bass, then i sometimes route them together and compress on top of that again to get it sound real tight. i usually compress bass, drums and vocals. no need to compress leads unless u do it in a creative way. I usually use Waves L2 or L3 on the final mix.

i'm not sure about the unnecessery to compress leads, as i've heard/read you need to compress any channel in the mix for good resaults...

  2. Reason IS a very stable program, but as much as I know Nuendo [2] is also one of the most stable programs, as a user of it I can say it dissapointed me only once... a thing I can leave with =] serves me well, no more troubles at all =]

BTW I also used FL/Fruity Loops & Cubase SX 2;FL was fine but not conviniente and the Cubase SX was hazardous!!! so many crashes, and some serious headaches!!!

  3. Their about the same, I prefer Nuendo cause it never crushes!!! Cubase was hazardous, for me [on my machine;]

I've had them both free, yes I know ill get a legal copy by chance, but for considering buying; Nuendo worth much more than the Cubase

I remember the Cubase was $800 while Nuendo's price where about $1500.

    cheers

  4. A nice set of speakers should do the trick, as asian_bud_nation said: 'u can mix jsut as well on any other speakers if you know them well enough and if u have the time to constantly check your mixes on other speakers for comparison'

im with it, the aim is to learn in which frequencys the speaker 'lies' and treat it as well. would be helpfull to check the analyzer from time to time, but its not recommended to rely on it =]

About headphones im against, its too risky for the health of your ears, I prefer my ugly speakers than using headphones =]

  5. Realy liked it!!! briliant stuff!

but the bad thing to me is that the sound is realy realy realy dead!!! its stuck on 0dB!!! & almost never come down!!!

Personally I dont like it that way... and another thing is the panning, I belive it would be great if there will be more use in it =]

only a personal review, but its great, not boring and built good ;]

    cheers

  6. hey good idea, thanks!!

Only worries i have left now is if i can "lift" the rest of the beat the same way

. It feels like everyone uses a lot of time & effets on hats, crashes & so on, but i cant seem to get my own to sound like i want them, any tips?  :)

Look m8 it depense on your private taste. you should do what sounds nice for you, but maybe it would be helpfull to know what tracks contain the "lifted" 'everyones' sound you mean? would be easier to help geting some specific resaults =]

  7. i know i am a little bit harsh okiez...

    zorba:more cheesy GMS/1200mics sound i hate it

bambooforest:the same with a "psychedelic" touch for tha xtc-faces in the "psy"=parties

    talpa:the new trend in "morning"=trance

my luvly seraph this is my opinion for these projects and the only thing that i dont understand is why psy-trance is missing from the music kinds below...happy nu year YO!

it would be interesting to know what kind'a artists you do like

  8. I don't see the interest of this kind of post. There is good and bad everywhere, so this pOll is a nonsense...  And why didn't you put Psytrance in the choices?  <_<

    209257[/snapback]

I agree this poll is nonsense...

    but asking why no psytrance???

there is no negatives in psyTrance!!! all Trance is positive!!!

  9. Is there is anythinh like this in the world???

i'm currently listenung to X-Dream's live set at the Drugless Festival and I wonder if there anything so powerfull and upliftung music in the world... xcept to trance ...

    cheers

  10. Well I think its sounds great,

and i'm also familiar with the phenomenom when its suddenly sounds different...

happens all the time, you need to take it naturally =]

A little thing that may help is adding some sub frequencys to the kick, add another sample of kick to another channel and lo-pass it at around 90Hz (wherever you get your best resault) and play it together with the regular kick =]

cheers, and tell us how it got out ;]

  11. Well grahf u'r some right,

but compression of audio files like mp3's or wma's are by deactivating groups of frequencys,

lets say that when U listen to 150Kbs mp3 file U hear 10% of the frequency wav. files contains =] just for example...

BTW I wosnt going deep to the subject so I cant ensure U im right but anyway...

I dont think mp3 worth more than promotion, intended to attract listeners buy quality records =]
