Namasté adds alternative dance to ADE program
The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) will be given an additional dimension this year, by adding ‘Welcome Home’ and ‘Rave Infaders’ to the already impressive variety of showcases and specials as programmed for the 2010 edition; On the 21st of October, Namasté will finally join what the music industry refers to as the ‘the World Dance Top’ of the year.
ADE has become the leading electronic music conference and the biggest indoor club festival for electronic music, making Amsterdam the dance capital of the world for four days and nights in a row. With far over 700 international artists and exceeding the number of a hundred thousand visitors from literally all over the world, the fifteenth edition of ADE this year is going to be the ultimate stage for Namasté to present its “Connecting Cultures” vision to a worldwide audience.
In two intimate alternative clubs - L.A.N.X. and Korsakoff in downtown Amsterdam - Namasté invites world travelers and dance fanatics to two unique gatherings with the alternative underground dance scene, its’ beautiful people and a wide diversity of cultures. But above all Namasté makes the 21st of October into a musical adventure at ADE, of which you return with a backpack filled with inspiration.

Namasté presents: Earthdance Weekend in Amsterdam
On Friday 25th and Saturday 26th of September, Namasté connects with Earthdance for the coming years, to celebrate the World Day of Peace with joined strengths. Entirely in line with the motto of Namasté – ‘Connecting Cultures’ – and the creed of Earthdance – ‘Give Peace a Dance’ – the visitors come into contact with a large blend of worldly cultures during this event. Earthdance Weekend 2009 promises to be a socially justified, alternative dance event, where awareness, the balance between people and nature and spirituality play a key role. Therefore 50% of the profits will go to the humanitarian charities of the 1%Club and the Tibet Support Group, but above all it will be musical adventure of which you return with a backpack filled with inspiration.
Earthdance - the worldwide dance festival for peace – has grown to be the world’s largest synchronized international music and dance event. Taking of in 1996 in 22 cities in eighteen countries, Earthdance has grown into a festival spread over more than three hundred cities in sixty countries. The locations vary from the club scene in New York, to in the rain forest of Brazil. Every year on the World Day of Peace over three hundred thousand people all over the world join in this dance for peace. In addition, hundreds of thousands of people support world peace and humanitarian charities online. Next to this, the music industry refers to Earthdance as being the “Dance Aid” of the new millennium. Therefore the goal is to bring worldly cultures together in order to create a synchronized, worldwide dance festival to promote global awareness.
The cooperation with Namasté is almost obvious, since, more than ever, Namasté is a widely oriented platform for alternative dance. And of course because the events are being visited more and more by visitors with an open mind for familiarization with other worldly music trends, people and cultures. Next to the dance program in combination with live world music, big artists from The Netherlands and abroad play an important role during the Earthdance Weekend 2009. It is all about to happen on the legendary East German fisherman boat MS Stubnitz, that mores at the NDSM dockyard in Amsterdam. For this occasion the quay will also be involved; here you can intensely enjoy Ambiënt music, abundantly filled market stalls and world food stands and on the Saturday, the capacity will be enlarged with the arrival of the renown Supperclub Cruise. Combined with the impressive decoration, there is no possible escape from the large variety of world cultures and their specific perceptions, emotions, habits and rituals.
1%Club
More than half of the world’s population lives of less than one euro a day. Almost one billion people go to bed hungry each day, of which three hundred million are children. More than one billion people lives without access to clean drinking water and each day people die of hunger, sickness and dangerous living conditions. There are many ways to structurally improve the living conditions of these people with the one percent given by you. Whether that one percent is money, time, knowledge, voice or your weblog; one percent can mean a world of difference for people in development countries. Your vote must be heard here, because eventually forty percent of the ticket price will be given to the four highest rated projects.
Tibet Support Group
When you think Earthdance, you think Tibet and the many years Earthdance has contributed to the Tibet Support Group, through which Earthdance has supported several projects in Tibet. The stories reaching the western civilization, despite of the heavily censured media in Tibet, still report about oppression and violence against the Tibetans. The population in Tibet continues with peaceful protests against Chinese occupation, though, while the they remain extremely abstinent of violence. A method the rest of the world can draw lessons from. Fortunately there still are organizations like the Tibet Support Group, contributing positively to the progress in the region by continuous pressure and awareness campaigns. Earthdance supports these organizations and through these organizations the population in Tibet. Therefore half of the profits of Earthdance 2008 have been given to Tibetan Dream, one of the charities with projects like improving schools, cultural centers and orphan and nursing homes. TRAVELLING BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
Namasté - Queensnight takes place on walking distance of the Amsterdam Central Station.
There will be plenty of taxi’s available to bring you home safe after the event.
Travelling per train to the Amsterdam Central Station, it takes a 15 minutes walk to Namasté Queensnight.
Walk through the Central Station in the direction of the IJ (rear exit North). Outside turn right.
Before passing the Jan Schaefer bridge, the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (pile 2-8) will be at your left hand side.
You can also take a taxi from the Central Station square at the side of the Amsterdam centre.
At the side of the Amsterdam centre, you can also take Tram 26.
Get out at the first stop; “Muziekgebouw”.
At the southeast side of the Central Station you can take Tram 25.
Get out at the last stop; “Passenger Terminal Amsterdam”.
TRAVELLING BY CAR:
Approaching Amsterdam, follow the A10 direction exit S114.
Leave the A10 at exit S114 (Zeeburg / Artis) and go left.
Follow the road, crossing two traffic signs and entering the Piet Hein Tunnel direction Amsterdam Central Station.
At the end of the Piet Hein Tunnel, go right at the traffic signs.
Follow the road and turn right at the fourth traffic sign.
You can park your car at the Passenger Terminal car park for 14 Euro per car.
The Passenger Terminal car park is open 24 hours per day, but full is full.
Therefore we recommend to travel per public transport.
After 24.00 you can also park your car for free at the “Kop van Java Eiland”.
From there it is a 5 minutes walk to Namasté - Queensnight by crossing the Jan Schaefer bridge
and turning right, going down before warehouse “De Zwijger”.
FOOD & BEVERAGES:
It is prohibited to bring your own food or drinks, these will be confiscated at the door.
On board of the boats will be plenty of bars and a creative kitchen with delighting food.
CASH MACHINES:
Please be aware that there are NO cash machines on board of the boats.
AEROSOLS:
Items containing propellant are not allowed on board of the boats.
Deodorant sprays, perfumes and other aerosols will be confiscated at the door.
LEGITIMATION:

NAMASTÈ´s NEW YEAR’S EVE ARRANGEMENT STOPPED BY AUTHORITIES
Namasté regrets to announce that the Arc of Goa on the 31st of December 2008 is to be cancelled by order of the Amsterdam authorities. After dozens and dozens of unforgettable and uncomplicated parties on the already legendary MS Stubnitz, the management level of the police refuses the planned activities for New Year’s Eve to be covered by the Stubnitz´ ordinary license.
Namasté is completely stunned by this severe measure and has no other option than to cancel her event. All efforts put in the realization of what was to become the most impressive Namasté production so far are in vain. We can only hope that the authorities will not progressively restrict this unique location to continue its existence.
For all the hundreds of visitors who have already bought their tickets in pre-sale:
please connect to your pre-sale address for a full refund of your ticket!
Tickets purchased in advance through online ticket sales will be fully refunded a.s.a.p. per bank!
Lets make the best out of this completely unreasonable decision by the local authorities.

Alternatively, Electronation will organize a party on New Year’s Eve on the Moby King boat, were they will continue their line up with three additional rooms.
The Moby King will be mooring on and off at the ‘Kop of the Java eiland’ from 23.00 to 07.00 in the morning. The line up for the Main room will remain Alden Tyrell (live), Terry Toner (special acid set), Lecktrick, Clockwork and Tron. The line up for the other two rooms will be announced soon. Arc of Goa Weekend on the MS Stubnitz
All aboard for one of the most extraordinary weekends of this year; Namasté’s Arc of Goa Weekend on the MS Stubnitz. Travellers from around the world and tribe members from underground cultures will be gathering at the 17th and 18th of October for two nights of outrageous dance rituals. The pitchers with rum, spices, overwhelming decoration and a complete fleet of DJ’s and musicians will shortly be hoisted on deck of the MS Stubnitz, so that the Arc of Goa can raise its anchor to sail to a dimension where the innovating underground vibe is still vividly alive.
FRIDAY 17 OCTOBER – THE ARC OF GOA; CONNECTING THE TRIBES
On the Friday from 22.00 to 05.00 this cultural breeding spot will be the centre of Drum&Bass, Breakbeats, Reggae, Dubstep and other sounds alike from the underground. Namasté called for the tribe chiefs of these authentic dance-tribes to gather for a unique meeting between these subcultures.
Dogs on Acid – one of the largest online Drum&Bass / Jungle communities in the world - contributes to Caste 1 with the absolute Drum&Bass / Jungle headliner of this evening; Adam F (Breakbeat Kaos/Kiss FM/Metalheadz, UK). But also the contributions of the Dutch underground tribes should not be underestimated with Drum & Bass / Jungle sound systems like Lionstyle and Champion Sound, who put the metal load on the test with their torturing beats and breaks. Next to all these raging rhythms and tearing samples Caste 2 has room for the more laminated Breakbeats and eclectic Electropunk by five DJ’s from the musical sub layer of the local society. Skank Around Sound, Subway and Covenant Sound-Selectas will host Caste 3 together with rhythmic Reggae en wistful Dubstep. Their sunny ceremony of laidback vibes and trippy soundscapes will let you sit back and relax for a moment and burst into a euphoric dance the next moment. Caste 4 will be transformed into a Noize-room by the Stubnitz where you can explore the impressive atmosphere which is filled with sounds which do not seem to come from this world. In Caste 5 you can stay comfortable with delicious and righteous vegetarian snacks from The Golden Temple in a cosy environment of Chill Out and Ambient music.

SATURDAY 18 OCTOBER – THE ARC OF GOA
During the Saturday you can connect to the best of two worlds from 23.00 to 08.00. Not only the crème de la crème of the Goa/Psytrance-scene will stipulate the direction of this evening, but the driving beats of one of Holland’s most renowned Minimal organizations will make the visitors sing a little higher too.
Caste 1 is monopolized by the warm sounds and whipping structures of the British live-act Beatnik (Liquid Records/Nano Records, UK) and one of the best Psytrance DJ’s in the world - Shane Gobi (Alchemy Records, UK). Completed with a triad of Psytrance, Progressive en Full-on heroes of Dutch soil, the hallucinating soundscapes will be irresistible here and guarantee a night of dancing and trancing. For those who would rather have a portion of pulsating Minimal Techno which make you move from your little toe up to the tip of your nose, Caste 2 will be the place to be. There you can shake with pleasure on the playful bubbling minimal and yet thick beats of the founders of Berlin Undergound (Lofarmedia) and Kabale Und Liebe (Remote Area/100% Pure, NL). In Caste 3 one enjoys life to the fullest on danceable world music in the widest meaning of the word. Of course the infamous Chaishop live-jam cannot be missed here with Spanish, Chilean, Iranian, African and Indian influences merging into cultural and musical wallpaper. If you want to fill your backpack with inspiration, you are most welcome in Caste 4 where Healing heArts provides healing sessions. Caste 5 will be hosted again by The Golden Temple and provides space for titillating and nutritive vegetarian snacks in an ambiance of Chill Out and Ambient music.
