  1. I like aerocraft. I like the buzzing mid-range effect and don't think it comes off all that loud. I think the melody is intelligent and the tempo is fantastic. Maybe a bit more undulating power shifting around beneath the mids and highs, but all in all I'd spin it. Don't take this the wrong way, but I still can't believe you guys are so young!

  2. Hey-

Where does one go to get the download? Do I need to sign up? I put a mix with a lot of the same artists a few days ago and really dig their stuff. Check it out if you like

  3. Mix for those interested.

Thank you to the artists responsible for these tracks. Very inspirational.

  4. Outstanding! Thanks! regardless of what was said earlier I like the kicks in Southern Oracle. I think they work realy well in with the change and harmonies in the baseline. In my limited opinion the boom is better with old school kicks. Tunes like Electron Bender and MWNN Flooresscence Blacklight still sound so much better to me on the low end compared to a lot of the stuff out today.

    Thanks again!!!

  6. You're right about those build ups on the breaks. It's really trancey in a mainstream way. IFO had a really raw feel to it. It seemed to be really electric when cranked. Starbase 11 has a some juice to it with a touch of cosmos, but, as you mentioned before, it has that ultra trancey feel towards the end.

Not to get off the subject, the new SunTrip album has a Merr0w track on it. Does he have anything else out other than the stuff under the Psynymph name?

Yeah, ARGH !  <_<

Really, only Starbase 11 sounds solid and cyber ( except those build ups on breaks )... the rest is not as bad as other generic stuff, it is rather sympathetic, but it sure is NOT Pleiadians stuff.

Edit : What happend to Vimana track ? Huh, they shouldn't have made the second part of it.

    R.I.P. ETNICA/PLEIADIANS.

  7. I tend to agree. There are a couple of bands who seemed to take a different angle. X-Dream, for example, (again in my own limited perspective), tended to stick to a kind of Frankfurt undertone and alot of the old Flying Rhino names went kinda progressive. Speaking of which, what every happend to Slinky Wizard and Technossomy?

I strongly believe that the greatest reason is the strong pressure to conformity, sound like others so that DJs play them and people listen & buy them. Sadly even heavyweights like AP and Pleaidians don't dare to take a risk.

  8. And furthermore...not to beat a dead horse...I understand having similar mainstream sound makes for better mixing, but it would be nice if they could come up with something totally new and cutting edge. In my own limited perspective that was a large part of what this kind of music was all about.

I think Jon Cocco and RAH have a fairly accurate perspective on headliner releases. As RAH was saying bigger name labels and bands seem to be able to count on sales regardless of quality. I certainly was a sucker for it before one could preview tracks on the net.

Starbase 11 is decent but most of the other tracks have a baseline reminiscent of some kind of neck tension. This is not to say I don't believe the Pleadians aren't talented it is more that most mainstream psy tunes have a similar sound...I think.

Those samples are the 'boring bits' of each track... Here are my impressions of the 7even 7isters album:

I BELIEVE - EXQUISITE track! nostalgic& melodic with a very ol'skool sounding vocal sample.

STARBASE ELEVEN - yes, lots of goa-infused riffs in it.  sci-fi mystique abounds.

GALACTIC CONQUEST - lots of arpeggiator synth sequences and a great arrangement, super-dynamic for the pleasure of dancefloors.  very very nice.

ATLAS - my personal favourite along with I BELIEVE and WOTW, as it is both a dancefloor pleaser (the rhythmics are great) and nice synth lines accompanied by utterly evocative pads.

CONDITION CRITICAL - lots of sci-fi atmospherics, i love it cos it reminds of older Etnica trax, in that sense.

WAR OF THE WORLDS - pure class, very elegant track.  Slower bpm but full power.

VIMANA P.2 - melodic climax at the end of the track, the arrangement starts off with a 'recap/reminder' of the first Vimana - and that unforgettable sample from Roswell...

OUT OF TIME - classy slower track with a nostalgic melodic ritornello...

DANCE WITH ME - track conceived in Milan with THE ARKANOYDZ, probably the clubbier track of this lot.

All in all I think it'll be a hit on the dancefloors and among dj's, but those looking for IFO will be disappointed  I think it is an excellent artist album with lots of Pleiadians feeling and, unfortunately for some: lots of modern characteristics.

  10. Yeah, most of the newer Pleadians and Etnica stuff is not so good. After Starship and Famliy of Light it sounds like they kinda sold out to the mainstream psy sound.

Yeah, that was pretty much it, with the exception of the occasional Etnica track since. Admittedly, I haven't listened to thier handful of tracks on the several compilations they've appeared on in recent years.
