  1. I would like to offer immense thanks to the Neogoa crew, who have provided us over the years with their free releases. I was just listening to some of their albums that I have collected over the years, and got some major satisfaction and positive vibes from the music that came out a few years ago (back in 2015), which I didn't pay much attention to at the time. It's really great to have such an amount of free music, and I honestly still can't quite comprehend how these guys are doing what they are doing for free.

  2. One problem I see with lyrics in psy is that they may undermine its international nature. Too bad there are so many English samples already. This was really brought home for me when I heard some Spanish samples (funnily Japanese and even, perhaps, German samples sound ok to me, but Russian - my native language - samples sometimes leave me wondering if the artist really understood their meaning).

  3.

Never liked their music and never will support the far fetch idea that they were pioneers of anything ...

i dont say that i dont like clasical music,i say that the use of these CERTAIN childish piano melodies are by far out the field of the classical music and propably belongs to the group products of milk such is cheese

I was brought up on classical music and love it... Even went to The Royal Danish Academy for some years to be trained in classical piano... And I found their piano play mediocre and frankly very very cheesy...Sorry but I will never agree that IM was anything but dull and not at all groundbreaking in any way and became a huge horror-story once Dudev started to sing and they went into the american EDM scene of cheese.

Yes, yes, yes. I don't know why but I just nearly hate Inf. Mush. It seems to me they are not psychedelic at all, but make what is psychedelic look bad. Perhaps, they were pioneers in the way that they were the first ones who commercialized psytrance.

  4. 1) I think it's uncool to try to tell the artist what they should put into their music.

    2) I've heard a few psy tracks with political samples. I didn't think they were out of place.

    3) I think that some social/political awareness and, to an extent, activism are essential for everybody who uses the term "psychedelic". It's a sign of rare level of intelligence to bring these subjects up in such a way that they unite, and not divide people. I thought that the psychedelic scene was where I would find this level of intelligence. Largely, I've been disappointed. As the saying goes, it's good to have an open mind but not so open that your brains fall out. Oh well, still listening to the music.

    4) The word "hedonism" makes me wanna puke.

  5. Slightly off-topic, but I just came across this documentary on YouTube, which I haven't seen before:

Also I can't but mention an excellent video by my friend Evan. I remember how I was blown away when, after I had seen it, he told me that he had made it (and, of course, I recognized his voice immediately watching it again). It was one of the first times we met, and I don't remember which one of us actually brought it up. Here it is:

  6. I've checked out some of the earliest FAX releases, and realized that they're all trance! It maybe even "proto-goa"! So, he was releasing trance compilations (e.g. Compilation 1) before it started happening in the UK! I am wondering whether Pete was somehow influential in the German trance scene, or was he just riding the wave? What other trance artists from the early period in Germany does anyone know? I find this early history of trance music fascinating, and have always liked the German minimal sound.

  7. i bet if you asked 70 yo grandpas jazz fans what they think of goa trance they would tell you it sounds like stupid music for idiots lol

Jazz and classical - music that requires professional musicians.

All the rest is essentially folk music, i.e. music that embraces amateurism (in Russian, samodeyatel'nost'). Sure, you can have real pros, who spend hours on end to hone their skills, but that is not a necessary condition. A kid with a bunch of samples can release an album which will be on the surface indistinguishable from real pro.

  8. OK, I've updated it. Go check again, I've also added the "occultism" word in the definition ;)

Oh, my man! Thanks! Sorry if I was pushing too hard. Let me work on it a little now before your next update, ok?

    Here are some more intricacies:

You write that Nitzhonot and Uplifting use "Eastern" melodies. After listening to them a bit, I realized that these are Middle Eastern melodies, not just Eastern. In fact, I don't know what Eastern melodies are. One can think of anything from Chinese and Indian music to Arabic, Greek, etc. - They are all quite different. So, I am adding the word "Middle" to your "Eastern", ok?

  9. Thanks for your work, I've updated the PDF next to your modifications, don't hesitate to check it again ;)

To the others : I'll notify officially about an update when this work of translation will be finished.

EDIT : there is a misunderstand about the words put next to the parentheses. The elements under parentheses are about "fantastic", "fantasy" and "science-fiction", not only "science-fiction" (and I maintain "transhumanism" as science-fiction because it's still partially fiction.

EDIT 2 : "Goa Trance is a sub-style that is not encumbered from the throes of creating more derivatives to present different ambiences" => I'd like to keep a sentence that ressemble more to this one, have you any idea ?

    Ok, thanks!

    1) I don't want to focus on such hair-splitting details too much, but in my opinion, mysticism and shamanism do not belong in any of these categories. I suggest adding the word "occult" in addition to the fictional categories you mention.

    2) "Encumbered by the throes", I believe, is the correct expression. It sounds ok otherwise.

  10. Hi Lightforce, I would like to do some more editing on the file. Hope you don't mind? Do you know how to read in the "Changes" mode? (Sorry if it is a dumb question.) You can basically go change-by-change (note that some deletes and replacements can get very boring), or you can switch between the new and old versions (you could also, I guess, save them as different files, and compare next to each other). Or you could just Approve All Changes, and paste the new text into your PDF (<-- best way ;)). You can typically find all the necessary commands in the Edit menu.

Note that I've done some more changes in the first few pages. Let's wait a bit more before the final version. You are welcome to edit the file. It will be great to collaborate.
