Coming from a family of musicians, his future as an artist was inevitable... He started drumming at the age of 9, which helped him to join Israeli rock bands. In between working in different studios and TV stations in the sound field, he also managed to release a rock album on "Hed Arzi", one of the leading Israeli music labels. As with most of the Israeli youth, he discovered trance as he turned 18. His success in Israel came long before he released his first track... Dobi has been playing almost every week-end all over the Israeli deserts and forests! Blanka (originally a duo) released their first EP, "DRAGON" on Tribal records and many powerful hallucinatory tracks on Doof records, Planet Ben records, Alkaloid Records, and magazins compilations. Dobi's first complete album "INFINITY" saw light at the end of 2003 on Doof records, which delivered a full-power performance and caused major damage on the dance floor... His second album "SATISFACTION" saw light at the end of 2004 on Dooflex records, which delivered a super-energetic and groovy style. These days Dobi is working on his third album and few more side projects, and ready to rock dance floors everywhere! Listen to Blanka's music releases... Post your answer in this thread, submit it by PM, or email it to competitions@danceportal.com.au by 6pm Wed 14th March;-) ***** BROKEN TOY Broken Toy is 26 year old James Copeland from Cape Town, South Africa. He produces psytrance with a diverse style and a wide variety of moods for the dancefloor - from full-on psy to electro-funk, from deep and dreamy to tribal techno. Musical influences are too many to mention - anything with groove and attitude, ranging from metal to electro-pop and gangster rap / hip hop. Previous musical experiences include being a guitarist and bass player in various metal bands during his angry teenage years, although this phase quickly gave way to a voracious appetite for electronic music, kick drums, and thundering big basslines! Psytrance was the natural choice of dance music for its power and creative flexibility. He also produced as one half of the more full-on project "Damage", and has been successfully making psytrance since 2001. Damage was one of the pioneers of the Cape Town psytrance scene, producing alongside other artists from South Africa like Shift, Artifakt, Protoculture and Phyx. Since those early days a lot has changed, but the idea is still the same - keep the dancefloor rocking and the party-people entertained. So expect the Broken Toy to keep bringing the noise to all the girls and boys! In 2004 he was taken on as an Alchemy records artist and stayed in London for two years working closely with the label. He is now based in South Africa again. He has gigged all over the world - Brazil, India, Russia, the UK, Canada, South Africa, Israel, Mexico, France, Spain, Austria, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Portugal, and Japan. And now Australia!~) His debut album was released in May 2005. Expect the followup Album "The Low, Down, Dirty sound of ..." in 2007. ***** To receive Deja Vu news via email send a blank email to dejavunews-subscribe@danceportal.com.au and you will be added to our subscriber list.

SIAQUA PETE ~ The filter prince! Pete needs no introduction. Born into this world with excitment, enthusiasm and passion for entertainment. Siaqua defines Peter's energetic, uplifting and flavouresome joy. Introduced to entertainment and parties at the early young age of 5 in Anthens, Greece, Pete helped Siaqua get off the ground 6 years ago, and is involved at all levels of production from composition, to mixing, mastering and logisitics. Peter's first introduction into the amazing world of trance was at 15 when he fell in love with the work of Brian St. James (SPIRITUALIST - White). The first CD he had procured from his uncle, who noticed the penchant of energy and enthusiasm in the young man. From then he swept the party scene throughout Australia. At 18 his love for trance took him to meeting the boys of Astral, who gave great counsel and guidance towards the possiblities of writing music in the trance scene. After which he did his own solo music production for a number of years, playing at house parties and small events. HISTORY Tom and Pete finally met at a dark, dirty rave in 1999 during the early days of psytrance in Australia. The two bumped into each other through the meistro Zlatko of the New New Order. Their first big break was offered by Earthcore who through the boys a lifeline at their festival. The pair had no idea what kind of roller coaster ride they were in for! From Byron to India, Siaqua quickly swept through the psy-trance scene. The latest collection of killer tunes are set to explode next year as the duo prepare to finally release their first album. After years of practice and observation, they have tapped into the secret magic energy of the outdoor dance scene to bring about the next schnitzel sensations that will rock your dance floors! BRING IT ON! Reshpect to all those schnitzel peeps out there! Tom is away playing gigs in Goa! Pete brings the mystical Siaqua sounds to Tarantism @ 3D this Friday night with a lively set (Ie, DJing 100% Siaqua tunes) from 2 til 3:30am! Dont miss this rare opportunity to hear the masterful tunes they are known far and wide for!
