  3. Let’s start the new year with a new addition to our Digital Releases: Psytrance is Dead!

This split album was released in October 2006. Featuring 2 major projects, nabicd005 was born from the collaboration of Baphomet Engine (Brazil) and Datakult (france).

“Psytrance is Dead!” was design as a real split albums where each project was given the opportunity to express themselves. Including remixes, split tracks and individual works, “Psytrance is Dead!” reflects all the talent and energy of Night Psy Trance with no compromises. Baphomet Engine and Datakult chose the title them self, expressing their hate for the system and the lost of spirit in the scene. This split albums really gives the BEST of both projects and a real definition of Psytrance.

Of course Psytrance is not Dead, only fools would take this title 1st degree and not see the real message in it: “Psytrance is Dead!” celebrates the full power of psychedelic music.

For this release, we had the chance to have Neil Hague do our artwork cover…. This was a great honor to have Neil collaborating on this project and making us such a meaningful cover… The CD release comes with a 8 pages folding booklet, for collectors. Mastering by Charles Michaud (Préférence Mastering).

No bull shit, this is a MUST HAVE for any fan of night music and a great way to complete your Baphomet Datakuly Discography just in case you miss a few originals ;)

  4. The Year is not even over yet.... What about all the December releases?? How can you digest 1 year of music without taking some time for all releases to be out and listen to them? Can't you wait for January 2008 to post "Best of 2007" :wank: ...Seems logical. And also, wouldn't it be nicer to name it : "Your best top whatever" since it only reflects personal opinions/tastes and in noways reflect the reality of the market (no offense).

    Peace

    See, I'm chilling

  5. I've just recently been introduced to the world of psychedelic music, and I have to say that it goes well with me. I've heard some full-on and I think it's pretty cool, but it isn't very psychedelic in my opinion...not very trippy if you know what I mean. I like to hear sounds that I can visualize and interpret (more random than structured). I really don't like the progressive thing (which is strange because I happen to be a trance fanatic). Could anyone point me in the direction of an extensive source where I can choose which albums to hone in on (old and especially new)? I would REALLY appreciate some advice from you experts. :-) If a topic has already been posted about this I apologize...I have tried searching throughout the forums with little luck. Thanks for any help you can give...and the more the better!

    My advice

    Ckeck Labels such as:

    Parvati Records

    Tantrum Records

    Manic Dragon Recs

    Definitely psy! imo

  6. Thanks for your lovely words.

I prefer to concentrate on the music regardless the genre. BTW, do you have any problem with Homosexuals?

EDIT: The reason Psy Trance dies as a culture is rude people like you that seem to forget the building blocks of our society which are Respect and the other 3 words that lost their meanings long time ago. Keep spamming our scene with your meaningless noise and crappy attitude.

Dam, I was reading back and .....Yes, you are so right. I'm rude, so rude..... To the point I totally forgot about the 3 magic words!!!!! Oh My God.... What a shame for me. Already I loose the meaning of RESPECT... Then I forgot about the 3 magic words... Pfff, I guess I'm an hopeless case of social disease :clapping:

So , Please, be cool and apologize for the rude person I am and please, High Spirited One, let me tell you the 3 magic words: UP YOUR ASS!!!!!!

Ooops, maybe not the one you were expected, simple freedom of choice! Could not resist, way tooo easy, I know

No shit... Don't talk about stuff you know nothing about. Respect when you the first one to say the music is shit is being totally disrespectful of the artists involved (and since I do respect them, I will not tolerate comments like yours) and not even, but the post subject itself about artwork and not music you can(t even respect.... So keep your cheesy definition of respect for you, it ain't mine.

You truly are a sad joke..and yes, about Gays: I think, in my personal opinion, that the music they like/listen/promote is very often shit, like some prog/minimal/techno/house all mixed up, if you see what I mean. But it's just my point of view, after all.

And , to finish, thanks a lot, been a long time I could not have such a laugh on this forum because of some e-tards. Users like you and stupid non constructive comments should be simply banned, imo.

  7. The cover is awesome indeed

I guess the music is nowhere that good though

Definitely not for fucks that "concentrates on the Minimal Techno/Tech-House side of Electronic music." ...Bro, this is PSYTRANCE, no techno, minimal tech house whatever shit for e-tards!!! You are in the wrong forum: look at the name PSYnews: about psychedelic music.... no techno/minimal whatever :)

Ha ha ha...you made my day. Thanks ;)

Yes: Another cover I really like and I know you gonna guess the music is nowhere that good....

    Posted Image

I dedicate this one to you..... You are the clear reason why Psytrance is dying.... Go pollute somewhere else with your Minimal Techno/Tech-House for gays !!!

    Psytrance rules!

    ha ha ha

  9. What are the tracks that define chaos to you ?

Considering only psychedelic and goa trance, not this random mumbo jumbo presented these days...

How do you perceive chaos in music ? Here are my pics :

Infect Insect, in my opinion, is a good example: unless in the right state of mind to appreciate it, it does sound like pure chaos to anyone ;) but in the right state, it does speak directely to your inner brain ... hehe

  12. Digipack vs Jewel case:

    My experience about this:

    Digipack:

    Good for:

Smaller in size than Jewel case, you can stack more in the same space(convenient for storage)

Lighter (Makes shipping MUCH cheaper when you sale 85% online and have to post them all)

More resistant to transport ( normal enveloppe with no protection will do in contrary of jewel case that DO need extra protection)

Less Plastic = cannot be bad at all :)

    Bad for:

Cost much more to make than jewel case

    Not friend with water

    Cannot be replaced if destroyed

Very often don't have a extra leaflet/don't fit for cd case

    Jewel Case:

    Good For:

    Cheap to produce

    Very resistant to most environement.

    Can be replaced if broken

"standard" package in the distribution industry and shops

cover / tracklist Adaptable to cd case with a good pair of scissors ;)

    Bad for:

Take lot's of space and weight

Heavy and fragile makes them a pain to handle and ship.

All plastic packaging made with fossile oil :-(

In conclusion, as they both have specificities, the choice of packaging is not only a question of taste but also an economical choice for most labels.

CD sales are not amazings, shipping is expensive... You save on production cost or you save on shipping...

  13. Some people like to get recommendations on what to listen/buy by using our tops (i know people that used the 2006 tops to buy CDs and thanked us). Some people like to EXPRESS what are good releases in their opinnion, and they like to see if their tastes in music are shared by others as well.

If we go by your "spiritual" mentality, then we shouldn't have REVIEWS either? Just like charts, reviews have the purpose of putting up or down a release, and it may even influence the number of its sales and the number of listeners.

Psychedelic scene may be an underground scene, but it is still a scene, and a big one may i add. This means there is TRADE, we trade products and services for money. We buy releases, tickets to parties, artists, labels, organisers offer us music, gigs, shows. These are all involving MONEY, and that cannot be denied. The basic rules of the psychedelic trance scene are the same as the ones of any commercial scene. No money means no psychedelic scene. My conclusion is that there is more to the existence of a scene (commercial or non-commercial) than just spirituality and tripping, and going to Goa to party.

I don't see how a "BEST OF 2007" thread can ... let me quote you... "create difference, and instead of uniting people in 1 trip, it divides them in useless / non tripping debats".

If you wanna get high on drugs and trip on psychedelic trance, nobody is stopping you. Nobody is trying to make you buy more, or less, or influence you in your musical taste. This chart is purely just an exercise, a conclusion of our members' activity in 2006. We mean no harm, no stress for anyone, we don't force people to post in this thread.

Do you have to be so exclusivist? There is enough room for both brain and heart on this forum, and we're trying to make everyone happy here.

    Thanks for your support.

    what's wrong you you?

I guess whith that bitchy attitude of yours, it won't really motivate people to participate and express individual opinions.

I never spoke about getting high with drugs, I never said it was stupid to do it either and I never said people that do it are stupid .. I just made apoint about how a lame we are to folow the system and not create our own rules.

    There is a BIG difference.

Some people like to EXPRESS what are good releases in their opinnion, and they like to see if their tastes in music are shared by others as well.

Nothing wrong with that, then why not make it : the cds you enjoyed the most instead of "The Top 5 whatever"... I guess you believe creating competition is good..I don't.

My conclusion is that there is more to the existence of a scene (commercial or non-commercial) than just spirituality and tripping, and going to Goa to party.

I can't believe I just read that.... But one again I disagree,...Psytrance is ALL about spiritualitty, trippng and going to party to share it....

All the "Best of....", "Top 10" and other non sens are from and for the pop start showbizz industry.

The psytrance scene was never about "top 10" and "I wanna be number #1" but freedom of the mind and counciousness through music.

Do you have to be so exclusivist? There is enough room for both brain and heart on this forum, and we're trying to make everyone happy here.

Unfortunately for people like you... Yes, I do.

And...to quote you again "First thing to make everyone happy" would be to let them speak freely and respect their opinion and as you said it: there is suppose enough room for that.... Very contradicting sentence here where you first tell me that I should not be so exclusive and yet that people should be free to express their opinion. That is pure bull-shit, just like most of the psytrance scene nowdays with the star wannabe and top ten shit and formated music.

Beeing an economist is not an excuse...sorry. I think you narrow minded and your attitude is really not what I was expecting :( Open mind, freedom and difference are values we do NOT share.

  14. Sadly, this year we don't have so many participants. Maybe i'm wrong though. I hope so! There's still 9 days left! :)

Ask yourself: what good does it do to the scene?

Top "whatever" have been created by the system to sale more.... no freedom, no pleasure, no meaning.... definitely a marketting/sale sh*t that has nothing to do in psychedelic culture in my opinion. ... I guess that's why people loose interest, they bored of beeing the system puppets. A top whatever in psychedelic culture is a joke as it creates difference, and instead of uniting people in 1 trip, it divides them in useless / non tripping debats; arguing for nothing instead of enjoying themself, music and the present moment...

We ALL make fun of the real top 50 , the crap and crooked system that uses it BUT we make our own, it sadely kind of shows how fuck up are the values in the trance scene :(

Once again, in my own opinion. But all the top whatever looks like they got very few participant this year, on most of the forums I visited. Maybe more people share my point of view after all ;)

  15. meh yu all know I'll buy it... I have everything withe Nabi on it including clothing, so must have this cd as well *sigh* hehe
