"What the Phoque" is the first release by BEATRAVE, the project of Gauthier DENIS, a 29 year old, French DJ and producer. Gauthier discovered the psytrance in 2001. He began dj-ing in 2002, and played his first party in 2003. He began making his own music in 2005 with his childhood friends (Biokinetix & Mesmerizer). That same year, he learned a lot from projects like NEUROMOTER, HYPER FREQUENCIES, ELECTOCULT, AND PHATMATIX. The BEATRAVE project was born in 2007 and since then has played in a number of places such as Ibiza, Holland, UK, France, etc... In 2009, Gauthier joins the french label MORPHONIC RECORDS. SHAGMA is a french project composed of Laurent Fassier (Fass) and Jean Salomon (Rasti). Childhood friends, they played guitar and drums, before discovering electronic music by it's psychedelic side on the early 2000's. Quickly, they obviously decided to create their own tracks and after few years, in 2005, they finally sent, their first demo cd to Talamasca, at the well known French Trance label "Mind Control records". Their first release, "Pianobar" has made them, from the first track, a strong reputation and they quickly began to play in Japan, Switzerland, Brazil... Later, they continued to release more fullon melodic tracks on various compilations including the Psychofluid 1 & 2 from Morphonic records. [Artist profile] Fabry (Biokinetix) was born in France in 1977 and was rocked in a varied musical world from an early age (Rock / Soul / Electro / Trance / Reggae...) His first experience as a DJ almost 11 years ago was on vinyl in London, mixing NuNRG and Psy-trance. After 4 years in England, he decided to come back to France and started DJing on the French stage.
