  1. Artist: Digital Energy System Album: The Birthday EP Label Touringpartner Records Website: www.touringpartner.com Year 2006 Price: 4,99 Euro Olé Salo-Rodum made himself a birthday treat including 5 songs and a load of psy! The release contains previously unreleased stuff and has a couple of live rmxs that has been played live from Digital Energy System. So lets get down to business: Per song review: 01. 0, 32 Kilopascal: It has a start of a mantra I guess, but gets right in to business very soon. It has a hard pumping bassline and a nice kick to get the energy out of the track. It has some really nice leads and interesting sounds flying out from the center of the tune. The lead comming from about 4,55 min of the song is something else it lifts the track to a whole new level. 02. African Energy Explosions(E-rmx) The intro is kinda funny and light and keep you waiting for what is to come, at 01.56 there is a monster lead to shred your brain and then there is a nice jump to take you off, the bassline is really really full of energy and the the next lead comming in really helps the track float and the expectations just rise to what will come. The track just rolls until 04.45 then there is another monster riff that just makes my mind rock! Wow what a track!! 03. K5-K5-K6 (Live Rmx) Has a some sort of flying intro that lasts for a little while then there is right down to business. This track is somewhat more spooky and crazy than the previous on the release. Then there is a nice part with some very psy fx and a nicely companied lead of hard metal?! at about 2.40 there is like a part where you are driving some sort of heavy spaceship or train and then it lifts again to some crazy parts and more spooky sounds. The beat is really heavy and the bass is really pushing at 149 bpm. You can really feel this is a live rmx as it has a different structure and keeps on pushing and pushing and pushing! Great Track!! 04. Duron (Live Rmx) Start with laser guns and a hopping bass. Then there is a nice build up to the track with a really nice melodic sounding bassline and nice psy fx! at 03.00 the track changes its style and gets crazy with loads of flying around leads and fx that just is very cool! It just goes and goes and nicely rounds of to get a little lighter on the end. Not so spooky as the one before but a really crazy in the middle! Also nice to hear the live mix of this track! 05. Infrared Mouses (Live Rmx) A bit of a more "classical" Psy track except it is not fully as light as the most commercial tracks. Nice leads and good floating atmospheres makes this a bit over the most standard morning tracks, still it is a night track, but after hearing the other tracks of this release it is probably the most light of the all. Still it is over the middle! I rate this at 8/10 was only 4,99 Euro aswell! Good release!! Link: http://www.touringpartner.com/index-thebirthdayep.html
