By far, the best track on the album is Time Jump. It's a 10/10 for me.
Nine minutes of non-stop drive through the most creative and exciting synths that you'll hear in a psy-trance track.
It's got a few well timed short breakdowns, but the rest of the track is as stomping as it gets.
The other track worth mentioning is BBQ. It's full of acid lines and some creative twists, but not as good as Time Jump.

Never heard of this producer before, but his sound is really hard and just the way I like it. It's pure psy-trance, reminds me a lot of the Electric Universe and Space Tribe full-on sound, which is perfect for dancefloors.

Very anthem-like track with powerful narration and strong beats. It's also very uplifting and inspiring, although some of you guys may find it a bit cheesy. I've felt it just a pinch, but the production feels so good that I couldn't miss it.
6. Revolution 07:18
Now here's my favorite track of the album. It has everything I like about modern full-on: great basslines, fun sound effects, creative arrangements, and overall good feeling.
Some of the parts even resembled one of my top tracks of all time - Cosmosis' Cave of Medusa. The resemblance probably wasn't intentional, but that UK sound is right there. Very, very fun dancefloor track.
9.Higherwasca 05:28
The album ends on a high note, but for some reason quite short, only five minutes long. It's similar to Revolution and has an excellent vibe throughout. Maybe it's the new standard of club-friendly psy-trance - tracks that don't last too long and still deliver tons of joy.

3. Rise Up 08:56
This track has a pretty slow build-up, but somewhere in the middle it picks up the pace nicely. The last third of the track is particularly good with some crazy sounds rushing through the spakers. Overall, not the best track on the album, but worthy of attention.

Paul Oakenfold played some goa trance back in the days.
Today, it's mainly Chrostopher Lawrence and John OO Fleming. Both are primarily DJs that focus on psy-trance, although they do mix other stuff.

yeah, there are a couple of tracks like that on this album, too. for example, the title track is like that, which I didn't like that much. but the rest of the album is basically a good old Protoculture

You're probably wondering why I put the "protoculture" tag in the topic title, well that's because Shadow Chronicles is an alias of Protoculture (aka Nate Raubenheimer). This is his first album as Shadow Chronicles and it's darn good.

5.Indigo Sequence 07:42
Here is the contender for the most beautiful intro to any track ever. It's so pretty that I almost can't believe it. That's what trance should be.
The rest of the track will never leave you wondering why Nate is one of the most talented psytrance producers on the planet. It's a magnificent track, and probably the best one on the album.
9. Jungle Rocket 08:00
I love these kinds of slow burning yet steady tracks that just keep growing and growing on you. Jungle Rocket is a track like that, I just want to listen to it over and over again.
In the end it starts to remind me of Electric Universe, one of my favorite psytrance acts. It does get slightly more aggressive by the end, which isn't bad at all.
10. Moments of Clarity 06:48
A chill-out moment. It's also quite upbeat, and dramatical at times, but never too much. In several parts Nate goes playing with rhythms and vocal chops in a very inspiring way. However, I did feel that it wants to be something like Shpongle, maybe? But who doesn't want to be Shpongle, right? Regardless, it's a perfectly fine end to the album, and I'm happy to listen to it any time of the day.

I wish this was the opening track of the album, as it really does the job much better than the actual first track Singularity IMO. In any case, the second half of this trck is so well done with the melody introduction, the vocal samples, and then the rhythm part - everything melts into a shimmering joy state.
6. Everything Is Everything 08:34
One could say that this is a typical combo of psy-prog, but we all know too well that Nate never makes typically typical tracks, and even if you could categorize them as such, then they still would be a head above any other typically progressive productions.
8. Vertical Mode - Inside Your Head (Shadow Chronicles remix) 07:29
I am not familiar with the original track, but if an artist includes a remix of theirs into a solo album, it means only one thing - that it's really worth it. And honestly, this remix is fantastic. An excellent piece of full-on psytrance.

This track starts off in a pretty mundane night psy fashion, but the heat keeps rising step by step. The last third of the track is genuinely good and really provides the sense of completion and satisfaction. That's where all the juices flow down.

Here is the most powerful and musically meaningful track on the compilation. It's almost perfect from beginning to an end, an ideal dancefloor tool. If you hear this in the middle of the night in a club or in a forest, you'll be smitten (in a good way
)
10. Stack Rack - Aeons 08:21
Not as powerful as the previous track, but it holds really well as a companion piece. There is some energy loss in the middle of the track, but then it catches up with some intense synths that sound really, really good.

4. Omega Flight vs. NRS - Kevin Bacon (Omega Flight RMX) 08:22
I wouldn't say this is one of the best tracks on the comp, but it's definitely better than the rest. It's what you would call a functional piece that rides the waves in a very calculated manner. If it were a bit more dynamic, I'd put it in the list above. But it's still good, just not as good.

I've been browsing Discogs for new releases and stumbled upon this producer named Sixsense.

Here's a brand new downtempo album from Psychoz released on Avatar Records. I have to say that this is definitely one of the best chill-out albums I have heard this year. The production is simply amazing!

1. Heavenly 04:53
Starts off incredibly beautifully with some string instruments and excellent percussion. It's a slow and lush track that goes into some deep territoriies in its second half.
Also, that bassline is absolutely fantastic. It smoothes things so well... This is my favorite track on the album, a perfect opener.
4. Perpetual Mysticism 05:06
This track is very similar in mood to the first one with its lush synths and growly basslines, but it ain't fast. Definitely a similar style and just as gorgeous.
The ethnic infuences are more pronounced with distinctive flutes. In the middle section the track changes the mood with a siren sound, which is totally unexpected, but it works. In the end it returns back to its initial form.
5. Psychoz vs Liquid Crystal - Follow the Stars 05:27
Another perfect, melodic intro made of ethnic string instruments and some classic, acoustic guitars. The track flows so well using vocal samples and short breakdowns that slightly change melodies each time.
There is no heavy bassline here, but the beat is really cool. In the last third it dives deeper into the psychedelic style, getting really frisky. This is a super creative track, I don't think I've ever heard anything like this before.
Honorable mentions:
7. Sahara 05:07
The opening theme is very brooding and gloomy. The beat brings it all up a bit, but the mood stays very much depressive throughout, although quite beautiful.
It's not as strong as the three tracks above, but it has its moments, which I can appreciate.
12. Cosmic Dub 05:26
This is such an unusual track. It doesn't really fit the album, as it is done in a totally different style. It also reminds me a lot of Photek productions, mainly because of the beat structure.
Nevertheless, it's a trippy tune with some very creative elements. I like every moment of it, but since it's so different from the rest I'm putting it in the honorable mentions section.

Just as the title suggests I turned this on in the morning during breakfast.
All tracks are of very high quality, but two of them are especially creative:
3. LUNARAVE feat BACKSLIDERZ - Sacred Realm 05:34
This here is a great little number. It's so subtle that you can't even grasp it in full at first listen. This means that the track prompts you to listen to it more and more, and with every listen it reveals more things. That's the sign of a truly great track.
There is a slight shift in the last third that really brings the whole thing up. Too bad it's so short...
8. ECLIPSICAL - Break Even 06:59
Such a great intro, sets the mood just right. I love all the little melodic sparkles appearing and disappearing in the background, it's creating a kaleidoscopic effect and keeps the main theme interesting throughout.
There are some dissonant notes introduced in the middle of the track, but those are really subtle and actually add some spice to the whole brew in a good way.

ok, I'll put here a list of tracks I've been listenning and enjoying the most this summer
in no particular order:
Man With No Name - Tarantula (always loved the EMTS album, but almost never payed too much attention to its second half. lately I've decided to change that and listened exclusively to the second half of it, and hey, what a surprise, it's really really good
)
Procs - Open Up (from the first YggdraSounds comp. I venture into the dark territory from time to time and this track by Proc is exceptionally well done)
Juno Reactor - Return of the Pistolero (I have to be honest, I am not a big fan of Ben's latest stuff, but gosh this new iteration of Pistolero is good. what a master)
Hallucinogen - Spiritual Antiseptic (one of the most obscure productions by Simon, still a fantastic track even today)
Ka-Sol - Greenbuttskunk (I never really liked the Fairy Tale, but Ghost Story is indeed a very different story. the album flows so well, and this track is just acid madness. love it)
JBC Arkadii - Invisible Floating Rays (this is my latest discovery. the whole new album is pretty freaking great, but this track is just bonkers good)
MFG - Sunshine (again got to be honest, I hated Project Genesis, too dissonant for my taste, but Sunshine is a goa masterpiece, the only great track on the album IMO)
Digicult - Awaken The Dream (just a pretty, fluffy, and a very nostalgic track for me personally)
Consept Lightwork - Constant Channeling (master class at goa trance production techniques)
Clementz - A Dream About Saturn (from the same comp as the previous track, another mind-boggling new-school track)
now when I look at it, this was a great musical summer

This is Southwild's third album on Wild Things label, which is the main reason why I've decided to give it a go. This record label has been releasing some awesome stuff in the past, and there is always a high quality standard present in all their realeases.
So what is UK Style? I guess different poeple will define it differently, but my guess is that it's something in between Forest and Night Full-on, which probably might not make much sense, but that's how it sounds to me anyway.
REVIEW
1. Little Green Man 07:26Minimalistic and progressive by nature, this is what a UK Style sounds like to me. It does swing towards the darkpsy territory, but only slightly.
The opening track is quite simple and totally functional. There are no out of ordinary twists and turns here, it's a psy-trance for the working class.

2. Canabians 07:01The second track already has more power from the very beginning. The shifts in sound are edgier this time, although the grindy bassline never changes and stays strictly in the background. I still like it more than the first track.

3. Southwild and ZZbing - L<3ve Drugs 07:23Love Drugs truly takes off after the first breakdown, which consists of a vocal sample that ends with hysterical laughter. Then things really hit hard, and that's when I started to pay attention.
The last bit of the piece exploits some mean sound effects and everything sort of drowns in it. Really nice.

4. Finanigans 07:55I have no idea who Finanigans are, but damn they must be some wicked folks. At about 3 minute mark some heavy synths start crashing into the speakers, and then follows a slinky melodic line, and a really fine one.
It's another winner in my book.

5. The Funk Family 07:11Track #5 provides the same kind of ride as the opening track, although this one is definitely heavier. All the same. It's a good ol' functional psy-trance.

6. The Flying Toad 07:16What a fantastic opening this track has with its delayed snare drums and some other samples that swirl around creating a fascinating effect.
Then, a vocal sample interrupts the track and everything goes into frenzy. The last bit of the piece introduces some more weirdness in the form of various sound effects that keep on delivering.

7. Get Real 07:54From the get-go this track smashes. It's full of vintage computer or old video game sounds, which can be used to a great effect in psy-trance, and they fit here pretty well.
Overall, Get Real is relentless from beginning to end, and there is only one actual breakdown in the last third of the track. It also gets a lot crazier and more intense by the end.

8. Southwild & Chris Rich - On The Fly 07:42Here's another hard-hitter! While the previous track used old computer sounds, in this one Southwild plays with distorted vocals.
It gets weirder in the second half trying to build up to something, but never really arrives anywhere. Still a very good track.

9. Brain Needle 06:11The shortest track on the album is getting ever closer to the contemporary dark psy territory, and unfortunately, it's not very appealing... at least to me.
I like creative dark tracks, but this one just seems to repeat the popular trends within the scene, which makes it kinda boring.

10. No Output 08:06Freaky is the best word to describe this final piece. While Brain Needle was bordering on darkpsy, this one firmly steps into the swamps of the forest psy.
I guess fans of the forest sound will love this one, but I may be wrong haha

Well, this is definitely a Wildthings album, no doubt. It's pretty intense throughout with only a couple of dull tracks. So, if you like Wildthings, this one will not disappoint.Hands down the best track on the album is The Flying Toad. It's not a masterpiece, but it is a solid, solid piece of UK style. A proper banger!

This isn't a bad album, and it does have that early Prodigy-rave kind of style in many tracks.
My favorites are Raga, Kinesis, and The Watcher, which is the best track on the album IMO.
The rest are ok and totally listenable tracks, if you can tolerate a somewhat outdated style of production.

I'm not sure if Bamboo Forest qualify as not very well know, as they were quite a big deal back in the days

Here is a ton of new material from Evan Bartholomew, known as Bluetech. There is enough tracks to fit into two albums, but here it is all collected into one neat package.
The style of the album is very interesting and will mostly speak to those who like a more electro-oriented stuff. There isn't much in terms of psychedelic music in here, but there are some tracks that would fit in that criteria.
Anyway, if you know who Bluetech is, then you also know that he always delivers goods.

1. Behold, A White Horse 05:18What a fine opening track this is. It's very electroey, if I could use that term. It also has a very cool, almost 80's kind of melody. It just sounds so retro to me. Great stuff!

4. The Archer 04:35It's interesting how all these tracks sort of sound the same, yet still have enough distinguishing details. Once again, this is a slow electro kind of track that has a fun little melody, and unfortunately, a very short running time. I just wish it was twice as long.

11. The Black Horse 06:04Technically, this would be the start of the second CD, and it is an opening worthy of the gods. Black Horse is one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard. It's so dreamy and sincere that I can't believe this track is real. Huge!

16. The Pale Horse 05:08Bluetech returns here to the electro sound of the first half of the album. Again, everything is tied with those gorgeous beats and vintage synths.
There is also a little bit of 303 thrown in there, which only adds to the flavor.

The Four Horsemen is a remarkable effort from Bluetech. This album is terrific, and almost every track is good. Obviously, the horse tracks are the best, but there are a few others as well that work extremely well.The best track on the album is The Black Horse. It's a very original piece of work, and it's also super catchy. I don't think I've heard anything like that before, at least not from Bluetech himself. So definitely a winner of this album.

Favourite track: Here We Come
What a great way to close an album. This track was made for hard dancing. It has rolling basslines, twisted breakdowns, and some cool SFX throughout.
i'd be playing this out as loud as morally acceptable.
Honorable mention: Foggy
This track has the best atmosphere on the album. Nikita uses synths in some really creative ways that get the whole track going nicely and smoothly.
The kick is really thin, probably intentionally. It creates just the right momentum for all the harmonies and the rest of the sounds.
