    Both Micky & Uriel, finally together for the first time in Canada!!

     

    Huh?! first time in canada??

     

    Hm, I remember seen them in montreal a couples of years ago, no??!

     

    It's an "Ok" line up for me since the only artist I don't really want to miss is bluetech...

     

    There is missing a Nystagmus, Talpa, Synsyn or Ananda shake to really motivate me...

     

    Last year they had The delta, Spiralianz and Dino psaras...yikes...

    Yeah, I've bought this album and I think its cool.

     

    BUT, I maybe have a little negative comment; I thinks that the firts tracks are really good, especially 1 and 2...but after track 5, I think the album is not that great...

     

    So for a final verdict, I would say 8.5/10 for the first 5 track, and 6/10 for the rest...maybe exept the last one...

     

    But in general, good album, great guitar, vocal, bassline and drum distortions...cool aproach to the style...

     

    And by the way RAIN, about the "real review" you are talking about; I only read your review because it was NOT written like the "super big review" trend we see in the review section. I never read those review, they are way too big and to me it's pointless to describe every seconds of all tracks of the albums...anyway; my opinion...

    Review:

     

    This is the 7th album of the minimal psy trance "elder" called Shiva Chandra.

     

    When I first heard the samples, I wasn't that much impressed...I own all the Shiva Chandra albums and this one [at first] sounded like plain and boring for me.

     

    BUT, my vision of this album totally changed after a couple of listenings. Shiva seemed to stick to a specific style since auricular. [Auricular, gecko and subsonic are kind of the same genre].

     

    This album is different. You can still recognize Shiva style, but its more like dancefloor or psy trance oriented yet still minimal...and yes of course, this album also contain a lot of those mutants-inhuman sounds from others Shiva albums...

     

    In general, I think its a good album, but, you need to give it a chance. I think it might take a couples of listening before you really understand what's make this album good. The more times you listen to it, the more it sounds better and better...

     

    In conclusion; it's not my favorite album [witch is Gecko], but its still is the second best album for me...

     

    Final verdict: 8/10

    Review:

     

    Excelent debut album from this Russian artist.

     

    How to describe his music ?! First, this is no full-on, but it's definitly faster than what I use to listen. This is kind of ultra-melodic stuff that remind me of [infected mushroom], mixed with super fast and FAT basslines. Some tracks contain some cheezy melodies that remind me of the *OLD* [Yahel] stuff. The drums are kind of specials, it goes from the classic psy trance stuff to a more "live percussion" approach, reminds me of [Joujouka; Tsuyoshi and Ubar Tmar]. The music can goes from dark psy to funky and happy stuff that put a fat cheese on your face.

     

    In general, this album is very good, very special and unique without being too much out of the track. I recommend this album for those who want to hear stuff that is different, and are open minded. This album is very mutant, so be warned. Sometimes it mixes some dark metal drums and melodies in the tracks...

     

    The only bad comment I have for this album is the sound quality. Sometimes, the mastering sounds a bit like "home made studio", but its not enough to kill the nice music in there...

     

    Definitly a must have for those who like melodic stuff, fast and fat basslines, and unique music.

     

    Final Verdic: 8.9 for this debut album.

    Has anyone already heard/bought the new album of Shiva Chandra and can give some opinions about it? I only listened to some samples at random online shops until now and I have kind of mixed feelings about it... did I hear some cheesy, almost euro trance there? And even some mediocre try in full on? Can´t be true, what, for God´s sake, happened to the master? Please tell me that I´m terribly wrong, otherwise it would be a major disappointment.  :(  I´d be glad for any opinions concerning his new album

    I think the CD is ok if you really love the others Shiva Chandra album. I recommend it if you are a fan. It's true sometimes its a bit cheezy, BUT, it's still Shiva music. It's not my favorite album [witch is Gecko], but it's still a good cd, a bit different but good...

    I got the same "boring" impression when I listen to the samples...

     

    But I've bought the album because it was Shiva and I got all his other cds.

     

    Still, I didn't receive it yet [i'm having problem ordering at psyshop right now].

     

    But, i'll come back to you with a review or something when I'll receive it. [if I receive it :( ]

    Sensient - Pressure optimal

    The cover is ugly, but DAMN the music is good.

     

    Seriously, this is one of my favorite album this years.

     

    It's minimal, it got fat bassline and kick, and it got so much psychedelic sounds in the background that it make me hallucinate.

     

    Very nice album, it's the kind of sounds I want to heard at rave partys.

     

    Nice one.

    Shpongle - Nothing Lasts... But Nothing Is Lost

    I agree, I think it's the best shpongle album yet. 10/10

     

    I think that the people that don't like this album had just so much expectation that they didn't even give them a chance.

     

    I guesse those people already started their reviews at 5/10 because of those expectations.

     

    I'm pissed off when I see all those bad reviews and comments about the last album. IMO people where just waiting the samples to make negative reviews without even listen to it.

     

    No wonders why it's their last album, fans are getting so negative about their new stuff. If I were them, I wouldn't be much motivated doing a new album seeing all those bad comments from the psy community.
