    A huge CD collection seems less and less appealing

    For me - my psycd collection, albeit small like around 30 cds, means

    more to me than all the music ive got on my hard drive. :)

    If that got wiped then id be pissed off but Id be gutted if I lost my CDs,

    even though they are oldies (goa & pre 2004), coz they remind me of the

    times that I bought them, and when I listen to them I get reminded of WHY

    I bought them. Its strange, but I think maybe it has something

    to do with ownership. I mean, I cant claim ownership over downloads

    (even though I pay for the connection) because I dont have anything

    to show for it, tangibly- ergo CDs mean more to me than my downbloads.

    Now I just have to buy more CDs...

    some of the artists you guys list are surely DUB?

    or are they the same? or not the same?

    Isnt reggae stuff like Dancehall?

    eg? most recently Sean Paul stuff? :unsure:

    I heard about this and gotta say "I wish I was there"!!!

    I havent seen mushy live yet - but ive listened to the older

    releases and they rock & raja ram aswell....Jeez! Anyways,

    Got a mate in Brizzie, havent spoken to him yet, but he went

    along with his girlf to this one. I think they're going to Earthcore.

    Earthcore is like a week after?

    So yeah - buy a very very big truck and paint it mate! stick on

    your tunes, wind down, kick back and enjoy :D:D:D

    SMITH i dont know in which world you are living mate but in my world there are some stupid people like me who own companies that are called LABELS.Seems like though that in your world there are just trancers,party promoters and artists,whats the name of that planet?

    Hey mate! You own a whole record label? Farkin ell! Thats a big responsibility indeed, & I dont think you're stupid at all for doing this, i think the scene needs labels, but maybe not as many as there is now. Just a few major ones that keep the talent circulating.

    In fact what is the use of record labels in a scene as underground as trance? I seriously dont know :unsure:

    i think that if it weren't for "download" ... considering how big the scene is these days ... many people would just check out the parties announcements and flyers and say: " :huh: who the fuck are these guys in the line-up?"

    I think sharing mp3s is part of the scene.

    A lot of psytrancers share and thats a fact - it promotes the artist.

    In a fair world the artist should see some of the cash but I believe that the artist isnt in the music making industry to just make money. I mean if the bottom fell out of the psytrance industry and noone made money, i believe that we'd still get music made, and available to the listeners.

    Playing live is where the cash lies - if an artist is serious about making music, then thats where he or she will divert their attention to. Sharing mp3s promotes the artist and makes people want to come to see them live and pay for the privalege. Id pay to see someone live as its a totally different experience ;)
