  1. intelligence is defined to promote a certain way of thinking. but then, there is the incompleteness theorems of gödel.

psytrance can promote a new way of thinking; that can be considered intelligence, but of what use without wide cultural support is a question, a nice one

  2. plastikman was overall a nice project. i listened to hawtin a couple of times playing (i dont remember whether it was live). one of them was among the best parties i had.. i like him better when he s plastikman

the black album, "consumed" by itself lives on another dimension i think

the track hypokondriak deserves a mention also.

    enjoy!

  3. from a purely mechanical way of thinking, i think old school goa tracks make the difference on good speakers

i agree they sound similar on poorer speakers, however there is another issue: many tracks are linked with special memories and moments. this makes them unique in every sense

  4. have download and listen to this sunrise mix here :)

really good mixing between the tracks good bpm. But for me i did not like the first tracks

feels that the tracks should not be there beacaus of the other style dark psy & goa =/ no good combine

    aswell ill give u 9/10 ;)

it was a set played at dawn; dawn time has a phase change me thinks. and the music reflects that

and thanx by the way.. :)

  5. I agree with you in that DJ'ing can be pretty difficult.... I use Virtual DJ without a controller (just my mouse) and having to create seamless loops for the next two tracks, match pitch for all of them without anyone noticing, match their beats, fly to my mixer to adjust EQ levels, jump over to my (dj) mixer to adjust EQ levels, fade in the next two tracks using various effects and cutting out bass levels to really get ones heart racing while flipping back and forth with the crossfader the entire time to make it seem like the new voices are part of the track, then somehow managing to jump to my KP3 to throw in a sample or two out of thousands to fit the moment (using more effects that you thought ever existed) to create a really interesting buildup or breakdown in about 10-30 seconds isn't exactly easy. Soon i'll be working a MicroKorg into it all somehow too.... Then having to do it consistently yet with enough variance that it doesn't get old....

All I was really saying was that these days it's easy for anyone to call themselves a DJ. I don't know if you have used Mixed in Key or MixMeister fusion before (sadly even Virtual DJ) but it adds seamless beat matching, seamless looping, a dummy proof auto fade in case things go south (or in case all you want to do for the night is throw a bunch of songs into the playlist and let it DJ for you the entire night), BPM detectors so all of your tracks can be harmonized and flow well no matter how you mix them.... So I would like to really distinguish myself somehow. I figure producing my own music or soundscapes would do the trick.

    wow..

i had 3 cd players and a mixer.. thats all when i was playing..

i have a different view on djing by the way, less technical, more spiritual. there is a set (from good old times, lol) in my signiture if you re interested.

  6. i dont agree with what you think about djing.

"I am not happy with merely DJ'ing though. I think DJ'ing is a sorry excuse to get out of producing ones own music because, truthfully, anyone and their grandmother can DJ."

producers make music (i am talking about the ones that use their own samples and stuff) djs mix them into parties and ritualistic gatherings. both are not easy...

a more physics biased aproach to music may be what you need, by the way.

    cheers

  7. tracklist:

    kindzadza - mayday

    talamasca - jungle storm

    xerox and illumination - helium

    shakta - lepton head

    mfg - overload

    filteria - tiny universe

    crop circles - lunar civilization

    cosmosis - telepathy

  8. ok that's a given i think ;)

doesn't take any music skills, just math skills lol

it is a measure for you to check yourself how correct you are mostly, as i said. it helps you improve your beatmatching..

there will be occasions that you ll get lost in melodies and beats and can't match, and this measure can save you in those times.

if you want something to try and blow your mind, try multichannel mixing and building melodic rollercoasters with lots of layers. but taking those as later steps is a wiser way to go.
