  1. dude, if you want portability buy a Palm and check this software out...it compromises very little for fitting in your hand and being able to be used anywhere you wish:

sounds amazing and easy to program...this is more for live performance where as Bhajis Loops is more for producing.

    here's the website:

i bought a palm to use this program and have been very impressed. it is great fun to be able to develop musical ideas anywhere you go :)

    there's a community forum here http://www.bhajis-garden.org

you can listen to songs made in the software

  2. Hi guys,

I have just started using Microbe ( http://www.chocopoolp.com/mi_index.php ) and I am really enjoying using the 303-esque engine to create patterns which can be filter swept to the heavens and back.

I am wondering if you guys have any tips on how to program a good acid riff? Straight 16th notes seems to be the standard rhythm, but are there any scales or other note progressions you find work well? Are your acid patterns usually 1 bar loops, or longer?

    thanks :)

  3. i like the riffs in this one

they twist in and out of each other very nicely.

very nice groove, not too fast which i like. when the hats first come in is lovely :)

interesting percussion with the flammed hats leading into the snare

the riffs and melodies here gave me a feeling just like old goatrance, especially the way the way the different sections overlap and interact.

but i wouldn't fuss too much about making it the 'genre' of goa, it is a sweet track and that is enough :)

PS - is the track's title a reference to Reason's mastering suite?

  4. Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Astrix has any other tracks which are similar to these ones: Beyond The Senses, Freestyle Cafe and The Fourth Revelation.

I really like it when he uses this style, especially how at the end of The Fourth Revelation it switches up to 4/4. I'm only familiar with his albums, but hopefully he has a few of these styled tracks on compilations. Or if anyone knows any similar songs from other artists, post them here too!

    thanks in advance;

    :)

    peace

  5. wow, i didn't my question to be answered this quickly!

thanks very much dude. i thought it was an Atmos track because it was within a set of his my friend gave me. looks like it was a DJ set. it's great to know the real artistwho wrote the track, and see that there are remixes.

    thanks again (:

  6. hi guys

i've been wanting to purchase Lish's debut, Dejavoodoo, for awhile, but cannot seem to find it in stock anywhere.

if someone could recommend where to get it, or have a copy they'd like to sell, please let me know.

    thanks,

    :D

    peace!

  7. far out... went to the CD launch party in melbourne for this last night. holy shit. maybe the CD isn't as great as expected (havent heard it myself) but live, Freq is the fuckin man!

I'll be buying this CD on monday morning. unreal

dude, you could've bought it at the show! :)

i'm still absorbing this cd. i really don't like the vocals (track 5 i think), and there's a few other things i'm a bit iffy about. but expectations usually tend to throw me a bit, i really need to play it alot more before i can adequately rate it.

  8. the Freq remix of All Seasons was one of my favourite tracks of last year.

i'm very keen to hear this new version. he seems to like re-editing and remixing his works (Lifeline Reedit, Nyquist - Singularity (Freq Revision), 2 versions of Brazil, Space Needle/Noodle). i guess it's that relentless pursuit of perfection which makes his music such a powerful force.

can't wait to get the new album! but this compilation is getting ordered right now to tide me over :)

  9. this album has been in constant rotation for months now. every track is individual, and each has developed their own little space in my mind. some favourites are Epo Orc, My Voices Don't Like You and The Pay Per View Sound. also, the intro and lead in on 95.5 Radio Joint is exquisite.

a rock solid bottom end with some seriously stompy bass provides a hefty foundation for some of the most insane grooves i've heard. the percussion flickers to and fro, with some perfectly filtered breaks reversing on themselves before flicking back forward and re-joining the track's movement.

the snyth work is minimal, but fits the vibe here very well. the noises have character and their movement is fluid. the focus here is very much on rhythm though, so don't expect melodies.

    highly recommended

  10. this is beautiful music, no part dominates (ie no deafeningly loud obnoxious basslines), but all elements complement each other as the chugging journey slowly yet surely moves higher and higher.

i really enjoy this album. is there a difference in style between 'Igneous' and 'Igneous Sauria' projects? i'm keen to check his other stuff....
