    that's the problem I havn't bought any IDM yet (altough I am familiar with afex twin, whom I like very much and autechre)

     

    I would be looking for melodic/ambient/idm....any recomendations? :rolleyes:

    You mean you have PAPUA NEW GUINEA singles ?

     

    I understand for a track to be worn off, but that would never affect me liking it or stop liking it... ;)

    there are tracks that I can listen to hunderds (even thousands) of times and never get tired of...I just don't think papua new guinea has that longetivity...all IMHO of course ;)

    where is ALICE IN ULTRALAND man?

    that album filled the gap in my collection with electronic music and psychedelic rock, and have been getting many listens at our tripping sessions at my bungalow.

    My fave is still LIFEFORMS but like I said Alice in Ultraland from AA is absolutely showing how good musicians or collage artists as they call themselves they are, it is a fucking live band+samples and sounds much more original than most of the stuff out there.

    Feathers, an eight-piece psychedelic folk-rock collective whose members split their time between Northampton and Brattleboro, Vt., have been signed to Gnomonsong, a new label started by ''freak folk" star Devendra Banhart and Vetiver's Andy Cabic in conjunction with Revolver Distribution. The collective, which boasts five songwriters, has a pair of self-released CDs (as well as a vinyl LP version of its forthcoming Gnomonsong release) to its credit. Its self-titled Gnomonsong debut is due out next month. Feathers joins Texas-based singer-songwriter Jana Hunter, whose ''Blank Unstaring Heirs of Doom" CD was released by Banhart and Cabic's label last year.

    im very interested by sufism and the dervishes...  (quote in my signature is from a sufi)..  There is definitely a lot of very deep knowledge to be found there...

    as for more mid eastern music, in the psy chill area there is angel tears, which are israeli, but they do lots of mid-eastern sounding music.. kaya project, as mentioned.. and some others that I cant remember right now.. 

     

    but specially check out Omar Faruk Tekbilek ..  veeeeeeery good music (not psy chill though, very ´real´ mid eastern sufi music..  actually now that I remember, some of his songs did get remixed into chill tracks, like in VA - Natural Born Chillers )
