  1. dude, he went to berkely in the 60s, made uncharted musics with uncharted technology...probably high as all f*ck! sounds like a damn cool dude to me just by definition
  2. i've found two programs that work great. one is arbpm, where you tap a key to the beat. it's freeware the second is bpmwwizard, it listens to a line input and tells your bpm after listening for 15 or so seconds. there's a little star that beats in time to the music. it's shareware and only runs for 5 minutes, and you'll have to start it up again
  3. i'm learning on a pair of cdj-800s. nice decks! my mixer is a pioneer djm-707. it's a great 2 channel mixer with a lot of good features. all in all about $1500 for the setup. i'm still learning, but i feel it'll help with more complex mixes later on. one of the main reasons to go all pioneer was the fader start support and pioneer makes awesome dj equip.
