Waterfall Cities and Become the Other are my favorite Ozrics albums. :D

  2. wow what a nice intro, felt like I was sucked into something....

    554930

    Midival Punditz

    Suns of Arqa

    Tantra Lounge Compilations

    Arabian Travels Compilations

Most of Karsh Kale's work has a middle eastern feel to it as well. :)

And I agree, Tekbilek made some amazing music!!

  3. hi

i'm kind of new in chill world, listening some chillout songs of compilation of these days.. but my first experience was with Chilled Euphoria disc 2 what was marvelous. then i started to listen more chill but i cannot find any compilation or group like thas cd

the chill that i'm looking for is like "floating in rainbow bubbles" of ganja beats, the ultra chill mix in psymeditation vol.2

do you guys can help me to find any songs or group like that? very very ultra chill?

i've been trying with shulman, entrheogenic, galaxy, red buddha, tripswitch but they are very "fast"..

    thanks

    :)

Anything from Ultimae. Ishq, Elve, Ishvara, Alpha Wave Movement, Biosphere, Aphex Twin's selected Ambient Works Vol. 2, and if you can find it, the Mystical Sun album is fucking gorgeous!!

  4. Sunswoop is the best track off of Muse Breaks.

    For me, I play:

Magic Sound Fabric - Uplift Drift - just some chill groovy shit, everyone loves it

Oliver Jones - Picking Up the Pieces

Ott - Blumenkraft - especially when stoned, oh man is his stuff good

Shakatura - Galactivation - I've gotten some great comments when I play that one

Squarepusher - either people hate him or are obsessed with him, I'm actually in the middle. :) I love his stuff, but not all the time.

  5. yeah 'Tight Spin' is awesome, the whole album is in fact. there's a song off The Hidden Step or a part of a song actually that reminded me alot of Shpongle - was it 'Tight Spin'? I can't remember which one it was but it was my instant thought "hey they must have listened to shpongle while doin this one".

btw. what kind of trance would an ozric-fan like? please pm if that's more appropriate.

Most of Ozrics albums came out before Shpongle released anything. :) I think Posford did a remix of an Ozric track, so it's kinda the other way around.

  6. ozric tentacles is pure luuuv  :D couldn't imagine my life without them. yesterday I listened to Spirals In Hyperspace and Strangeitude. two cool albums. but watch out for Waterfall Cities if you are new to them - it's far from their best album.

Wow, I considered Waterfall Cities to be their best. Especially the track Sultana Detrii. Pure dub bliss. The basslines are catchy as hell on that sing.

Ozrics best song ever though, is Tight Spin, off of The Hidden Step. There's about 4-5 different genres of music in that song. Ed Wynne is probably the most UNDERRATED guitarist of all time.

  7. I have just spend some time in a freezing cold hutt in a sweedish forest with wood burning in the stove and with an out-side-in-the-snow-shit-house (primitive style) and I was so lucky to bring my old Hallucinogen in Dub cd! How can music bring one so much joy I really dont get it, its fucking brilliant! I just have to thank Ott for his interperation off the old classics, psy dub doesnt come better then this... yet....! Lets just say I cant wait for his new stuff... Just had to remind all who has this cd (H. in dub) to play it!!!  I had'nt done that for a while myself and I can now see that was very wrong!!! B)

Well have a brilliant day all of you!! :)

The buildup to the last synthline in Solstice (Warwick Bassmonkey Mix) is pure bliss!

  8. My chill tops for this weekend:

    1) Violet Vision - Heaven Underground

    2) Phutureprimitive - Dissolve

    3) Celtic Cross - Darshannon

    4) Shpongle - A New Way To Say Hooray

    5) Capsula - I Know That I Know

    6) Steve Roach - Arrival

    7) Entheogenic - Walk On Air

    8) Ishq - Alaya

    9) Shpongle - Star Shpongled Banner

    10) Boards of Canada - Olson

    395996

    Awesome list!!

I'll add my top 10 as of right now.

    1. Solar Fields - Insum (off of Leaving Home)

    2. Ozric Tentacles - Sparkling Oasis

    3. Entheogenic - Ground Luminosity (Ott New Yoghurt Loom Mix)

    4. Eat Static - Critical Mass (Kinetic Overflow Mix)

    5. Shpongle - The Stamen of the Shaman

    6. Shpongle - Behind Closed Eyelids (I think I will ALWAYS listen to this song :) )

    7. Suns of Arqa - Jagnath Bhairavi

    8. Omar Faruk Tekbilek - Moment of Doubt

    9. Tool - Reflection

    10. Opeth - The Baying of the Hounds (the only metal band I still listen to, AMAZING new album)

  9. Sinhala, off of Magical Sounds of Banco de Gaia. My first unmistakable shroom hallucination came during this song. :D

Behind Closed Eyelids - Shpongle Tripping in the mountains, under the brightest star filled sky I've ever witnessed. Makes me tear up just thinking about it. I knew from that moment on, everything was downhill. :)

The Unexpected Visitor - Shulman Probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I also find it one of the saddest. First heard it after finding out a girl I went to school with was kidnapped and murdered, 5 minutes from her house. :( Still love the song though, just not a fond memory.

  10. I voted for Shulman.

    One song: The Unexpected Visitor

    An amazing song!!!

But my favorite chill artist is Ott. I think he's the most talented electronic artist making records right now. Can't wait for his new album, whenever that is.

  11. Ozric Tentacles, oooo yes

    299760

I STRONGLY second this opinion. Probably the trippiest band off all time. No one makes music quite like they do. If anybody enjoys Ozrics, checkout Blandbladen, you can download a bunch of tracks of theirs at www.blandbladen.tk

No one comes close to Ozric Tentacles though. :D
