  1. my tips:

    Magnetrixx - Trittschall

    Cosmic Tone - Overwhelming

    Trancefeld - Party Center 800

    Antix - Lull

    edit:

some very dark minimal stuff i listened to some years ago ( too dark for me now, but really good):

    XVKilist

man of the last 3rd & dj lando - blow station

paps ("2000 hands" is weird stuff)

    paste (especially "Hihatic")

    3 point turn

auricular ( i think it's the same as shiva chandra )

necton ( the "beverly hills cop"-cover is amazing!)

ticon ("you can have my fraggles" is a great track!)

    and of course this: :D

Cant believe I forgot Bitmonx. For minimal, check out their older stuff. Gold.

  2. I disagree. While I don't have everything ever released, I have a LOT of old stuff, even the bad ones - and the average release there has higher musical qualities than the average release of today, in my opinion.

and you haven't ever sold the really bad ones from 5 years ago?

p.s.: i also have the feeling that the quality of the releases has dropped, it's just that it crossed my mind, that the feeling could be generated by this effect.

  3. ..., but all these new branches just seem obscure when few know exactly how to define them.

this is because, you can define styles only in retrospective. people who are making music aren't thinking: "ok, let's make another style of (psy-)music." they just make their music, and eventually other people get influenced by this.

so, the styles are in a constant flux, and there is no clear borderline between them.

  4. there's no point in disussing this, as mylo said, it's simple:

The music supplies the rythym. The EMOTION comes from the combination of dance and friendship.

    simple ;)

either you get it or you don't, you can't convince anybody by arguments. you have to experience it. if you don't, you don't. no problem. move on, move on... nothing to see here...

  5. They all have the same father. Called "Electronica" :P

i thought it was "Abraham". :P

anyway, it's all "Techno" to me. ( Or was it "House", "Progressive somethin...", no, wait, i got it... no... lost it again... )

really, it's like sherlokalien said: there is no exact science.

i vividly remember this genre-game from my old punk-rock-times. when you had genres like "Metal-Somithing-Fun-Punk-Grunge-Funk-Fusion-Crossover" etc.

Funny, but not to be taken too seriously.

  6. finally i was there in 2003 and it was just like i thought. the music on the mainstage was very strange too after the opening, stayed most of the time on the prog-floor (where were no lasers). i just prefer smaller outdoors.

same with me, but i still love the voov. my tip: sleep at night (night-time is zombie-time), party the daytime on the proggy-floor. for me it was always big fun like that.

edit: especially 2003, with d-nox spinning on the proggy-floor sunday afternoon. boy! i laughed my ass off!:lol:

  7. i'm just listening to "nirbug". i love it.

bittersweet memories (it's the kind of music i heard when i was on parties in india). and great music!

i really like, that the trance-scene is in constant evolution, but sometimes i think: those grand-old-tracks are forgotten too fast...

    thanks for the link...

  8. i once had a quite impressive collection of vinyls of all kinds. about three years ago, on a party i gave them all way for free (to some lucky bastards), because i didn't want to be burdened by owning so many things. i only kept about 20 records (my all time favorites).

among them are two records by the tentacles. they truly are amazing.

    those records are:

    - strangeitude

    - pungent effulgent

    highly recommended!
