    Entheogenic vs. Shpongle

    DIFFERENCES:

    Entheogenic is more organic sounding....like the sounds and music are comming from some rainforest and into our stereos and back out our speakers.  They're sound is more melodic, soft and sensual...very peaceful and not so psychedelic.

     

    Shpongle uses production to make the listener go "what the fuck was that".  The mood of Shpongle isn't as relaxingly peaceful as Entheogenic but more psychedelic and interesting because you never know what's going to happen next.

     

    OVERALL

    I really enjoy both artsist and think they are very different from each other but share a common ground.  I'm really not certain why Entheogenics album isn't red flagged, I hope it can be changed.  I have come up with an analogy that expresses the styles of Shpongle and Entheogenic IMO...

     

    Entheogenic : Mushrooms :: Shpongle : LSD

    Entheogenic has more of that Organic sound from Mushrooms or Ayahuasca, Shpongle has something a bit more synthetic.

    I also get the feeling Entheogenic uses more overall musicality, Shpongle more techniques and effects.

    Actually I can't compare them, and I don't listen much to Shpongle anymore.

    V/A - Quality Relaxation

    A quality compilation, no bad tracks here.

     

    Some highlights:

     

    1.)Entheogenic - Walk on Air -

    Great track with beautiful melodies, very much enjoy the vibe and the breaks. A bit different from their older tracks.

    8.)Elysium Vs. Space Cat, - Dub connection-is a great deep dubby classic. I like the lovely voice and very nice bass line.

    10.)Blue Planet Corporation, - Wild City- I really enjoy this one, more upbeat track and original and well executed.

     

    These are my favourits, while all the others are also classy.

    SUMMER REVOLVE MAGAZINE WITH PROMO CD

    I've ordered the magazine together with some CDs from psyshop. I wonder if it's as good as I think it is. Psymags seem to be new trend, first it was D-Tect and now there is this. I think it's cool, especially because the mags include demo CDs.

    I think I really like the way that the voting results show.  You've got one range of people who give it 9 and 10, then a lot of people who give it a 6, and it overall reads like a cool chart

     

    They ought to do this for all the reviews!!!!!
