  1. :: PUZZLE PROJECT! :: Club 414, Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, London, SW9 8LF Saturday 23rd October 2010 11pm - 7am :: TRANCE :: TECH :: PSY :: :: LIAM MELLY :: This month, the superb Liam Melly makes his third (yes, third!) appearance for Puzzle. He’s dropped trance bombs on some of the world’s biggest trance labels, such as Fraction, Discover and Paul Van Dyk’s Vandit, most recently collaborating with Bryan Kearney on trance anthem ‘The Other Half’. He’s rocked dancefloors all over the world, from ‘Lush’ in his native Northern Ireland to the legendary Amnesia on the White Isle – and on past visits to Puzzle he’s showed exactly why he’s landed such massive gigs. Partygoers are in line for some upfront, exclusive unreleased material, seamless mixing and some simply jaw dropping euphoria! :: N KORE :: We’re also pleased to welcome back Nkore for his second appearance at Puzzle. His debut came about when his demo landed on our desk at Puzzle HQ – you know it must have been special – and he turned in a simply massive first set, an awe inspiring tour through the highs and filthy, filthy lows of the psy trance sound that left the 414 floor seriously impressed. Expect more of the same this month from this Gallic wonder DJ! :: ANDI LEPPARD B2B MATT LORRAINE :: Next up we welcome the South Coast’s number 1 party animal to the Big Smoke, none other than Mr Matt Lorraine! Matt’s Psy Co nights are well beloved of Portsmouth clubbers, and we thought it high time we invite him up to Brixton to spread a little mayhem. He’ll be going head to head with our very own psy wonder kid Andi Leppard in a back to back encounter that’s sure to be highly explosive! This will be a sneaky taster of what to expect at the massive Halcyon party forthcoming on 19th November, where these guys are set for a b2b rematch in the HOMmega room! :: PHIL LANKESTER aka LIBRA 9 :: No Puzzle would be complete without London’s favourite DJ, Phil Lankester aka Libra 9. Again, this month he’ll be warming up for Halcyon in November, where he’s one of the headliners in the HOMmega room – alongside scene legends Astrix and X-noize! Any Puzzle regular will know exactly why this is – cos he’s simply one of the most talented and exciting psy trance DJs out there right now! :: MATT CHURCH :: Another key piece of the Puzzle, Matt Church will as always be providing a dose of top notch trance. Expect quality driving trance, delivered with style by one of London’s most experienced DJs – Matt knows exactly how to read a crowd, and with stacks of exclusive material from his role as Red Sky Digital head honcho you’re in store for a rip roaring ride through the very best in trance! :: LK :: Completing our line up for October is Puzzle resident DJ LK. LK really impressed at our birthday party with a blistering set of tough as nails tech trance, and he’ll be doing this same again this month for sure. Techno, house, progressive, uplifting trance, all of it makes an appearance in LK’s wallet – this DJ is sure to surprise you, so make sure you don’t miss out on his set! See you on the 23rd – make sure you don’t miss London’s biggest small party! 2. :: PUZZLE PROJECT :: Club 414, Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, London, SW9 8LF Saturday 26th June 2010 11pm - 7am :: BREAKS :: TRANCE :: TECH :: PSY :: HARD :: Wow! Last monthís party was a huge success, with all the DJs causing some serious dance floor May-hem! Thanks to all the clubbers who made it down to the 414 to dance their little hearts out, and special mentions to all our guest DJs - Nick Sentience, Nikki S and Rebecca Saforia - who all absolutely smashed the club to pieces! The Puzzle residents, as usual, werenít too bad eitherÖ This month weíve got another cracking line up for you, with the usual selection of the very best guest DJs supplemented by our ever reliable crack team of resident DJs providing an immaculately programmed journey through the world of underground dance music. :: S.W.A.P :: Our first guest this month is SWAP with an exclusive London set. His name may sound unfamiliar to some London clubbers but this young trance DJ is well known in his home region of the Midlands. Having caught his first big break playing for Passion, SWAP impressed the team behind one of the UKís top trance nights so much he now forms part of the NuPassion DJs and has rocked the main room and second room dance floors at the Emporium on many occasions. Since then heís also played for most of the big trance nights in the North, including Digital Society, Off The Rails and Amplified, alongside some of the biggest names in trance such as Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery, John O' Callaghan, and Marco V. He also runs radio shows on Slinky.fm, Afterhours.fm and produces a regular podcast (the ëSWAPcastí series) which have all built up a significant and loyal following across the globe. His brand of trance is impossible to pigeon hole. Taking in trance in all its forms, from progressive through to tech trance, and elements from outside the trance genre such as techno and house, you can be sure to hear a diverse, energetic and spellbinding set every time you catch him play. Itís not often youíll get the chance to hear SWAP play a London set so make sure you donít miss out! :: TREVOR MCLACHLAN :: Our next guest is certainly well known in the Big Smoke ñ London legend Trevor McLachlan! Trevor cut his teeth as resident for the mighty Twisted parties and for many years it was rare to see a trance or hard dance line up without his name on, having played for all the greats such as Heat, Tidy, Extreme Euphoria and as a resident for Londonís best loved boat party Friendz. A string of quality releases on Impact, Tidy Traxx and Tranzlation cemented his position as one of the harder edged dance music sceneís greats. The once ubiquitous Mr McLachlan has taken up a lower profile for the last year or so with his initiation into family life, but can still be tempted to get behind a pair of decks for the right party ñ and if Puzzle doesnít qualify weíre not sure what would. Expect spine tingling riffs, chunky basslines and quite a few special hands-in-the-air moments from this legendary DJ! :: PHIL REYNOLDS :: Next up this month is the first of our residents, and another true great ñ the one and only Phil Reynolds! Itís a clichÈ, but this man really needs no introduction. One of the DJs that made Frantic the phenomenon it was, youíve all caught Philís sets, whether at Frantic, Heat or other top hard nights, or at previous Puzzles with his exclusive trance residency. You can expect a rip roaring experience without fail whenever Phil plays, but itís only at Puzzle Project youíll always see him spin trance and tech trance sets ñ and they have to be seen and heard to be believed! :: PHIL LANKESTER :: Our next resident this month is none other than Phil Lankester, who as always will be providing the party faithful with a rather potent dose of twisted psychedelia. Philís profile is still very much on the up and up with his Halcyon residency and multiple festival bookings lined up for the summer. Ask anyone on the London scene why Philís one of Londonís best loved DJs (as confirmed by his DJ of the Year Award on HarderFaster.net), and all will point to his immaculate set programming, tune selection, unparalleled mastery of the art of EQ and a box of technical tricks not many can top. Expect the incredible ñ every single time! :: MATT CHURCH :: Next up is Puzzle Project co-founder and Red Sky Digital label owner Matt Church. His label continues to go from strength to strength, with recent releases receiving airtime and support from the likes of Ernesto and Bastian, Ben Nicky, Kutski (BBC Radio 1) and none other than Tiesto! Mattís euphoric brand of driving trance always goes down a treat and this monthís set is likely to be no exception ñ quality trance blended by a master of his craft. :: ALI CANTOR :: Our next resident to play this month is Ali Cantor, a fellow member of the resident Puzzle Project trance contingent. A recent addition to the Puzzle crew, Ali has certainly impressed the Puzzle crowd with a series of jaw dropping sets. A DJ of true versatility, with a CD wallet that takes in house, techno and the full spectrum of trance from progressive to banging tech, and with the skills to match, you can expect Ali to deliver the goods whatever time of the night he plays! :: APRIL :: Completing this monthís line up is hard dance resident April. Her cheeky yet pumping brand of hard dance and inimitable presence behind the decks has won her legions of loyal fans, and Aprilís very much in demand across the scene with recent sets at Frantic, Storm and Hard House Academy. Sheíll be closing out the party in style with a quality set of harder edged beats for that time of the night when only something a little bit fierce will do! There are no excuses ñ donít miss Londonís biggest small party! We hope you had as much fun as us, celebrating Puzzle Project founder/resident Phil Lankester’s birthday! The 414 was truly resplendent dressed in our unique décor and packed full of smiling, dancing and happy clubbers so we’re rather suspecting you did….. Prepare for another night of breakbeat groovin’, trance movin’, harddance bashin’ psychedelic smashin’ escapades with London’s number 1 small venue promotion – PUZZLE PROJECT! :: E303 :: As a name that has spent the last 10 years creating, organising and establishing such legendary brands as Psychedelic Academy, Infecting The UK, Antiworld, Teknoworld, and Recoverworld you could be forgiven for having overlooked his undoubted skills as a DJ. This man has been playing internationally alongside globally recognised names such as John “00” Fleming and Astrix in addition to having rocked countless capacity filled London events with local legends Oberon, Beamish and Mark Sinclair. Prepare to witness some full-on, peaktime psytrance from someone who understands the scene at a sub-atomic level! :: PHIL LANKESTER AKA LIBRA 9 :: No longer our best kept secret, Phil is riding the crest of a wave with his recent sets for Party Proactive and HOMmega @ Matter. As much as the prospect of his latest residency at the o2 superclub excites us, it’s hard to beat seeing him at such close quarters playing for the club and promotion on which he built his name :: MATT CHURCH :: His latest storming tech-trance production “Quake” is likely to be flying off the online shelves by the time you read this. Don’t miss your monthly opportunity to see how the Red Sky Digital mastermind keeps a dancefloor eating from the palm of his hand! :: GLYN WATERS :: Having received support from Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, John Askew and Agnelli & Nelson for his incredible remix of Plastic Boy – “Silver Bath” he is also now a resident for the legendary Twist. 4. :: PUZZLE PROJECT :: Club 414, Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, London, SW9 8LF Friday 9th October 2009 10pm - 6am :: BREAKS :: TRANCE :: TECH :: PSY :: HARD :: Firstly, thanks to all those who joined in making last months 4th Birthday celebrations such a resounding success. Not only was a packed 414 the ideal setting to blow out the candles on our cake it was also a tremendous send-off for Puzzle Project resident/co-founder Ben Bennett as he ventures into new projects. Bennett fans need not fear though - you can look forward to guest appearances from him in the future. Looking toward our 5th year you can continue to rely on us to provide quality line-ups, intelligent musical progression and an electrifying atmosphere in London’s longest established dance venue. If you haven’t paid our beloved 414 a visit recently come and check out the improvements from recent refurbishments. If the tight but polite security, friendly and efficient bar staff and the happiest, bounciest crowd you’re likely to encounter in an intimate and imaginatively decorated environment aren’t enough to tempt you, perhaps October’s offering of award winning DJ talent will….. :: PHIL LANKESTER AKA LIBRA 9 :: The Puzzle Project founder and resident will be celebrating his birthday with the party on which his burgeoning wider reputation is built. Therefore you can expect blistering psytrance played with the skill and finesse you would associate with someone recently made a mainroom resident of Halcyon - the new regular psy night of London’s prestigious Matter @ o2 venue. :: MATT CHURCH :: The Puzzle Project co-founder and resident prides himself on rocking dancefloors. And rock them he certainly does as regulars and newcomers alike never fail to be impressed with his smoothly mixed blend of quality trance. Pounding, euphoric and guaranteed to leave you begging for more. A recently overheard comment - “I don’t like trance….. except when Mattie plays it” really says it all. :: ANDI LEPPARD :: Andi’s original influences include such legendary parties as Escape from Samsara, Return to the Source and Pendragon. If we also tell you his Antiworld residency has seen him recently play alongside such luminaries as Astrix, Infected Mushroom, Laughing Buddha and Eskimo it shouldn’t take you many guesses to conclude you’ll be in for a psychedelic treat. Having seen him successfully promote Jarred (Portsmouth/Bristol) and with DJ sets having spanned the UK and international scene for nearly 10 years, we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us as he makes his Puzzle Project debut! :: STEELO :: A welcome return to Puzzle Project for the Prince of the Rinse! His DJ CV reads like a “Who’s Who?” of clubbing. Besides our good selves - Peach, Ministry of Sound, Party Proactive and Chew the Fat have all previously played host to his talents. An integral part of the breakbeat scene for years he retains his shake yo ass roots whilst showcasing his new minimal sound. As a DJ who is very selective about which promotions he will play for, don’t miss this relatively rare opportunity to see a true legend in action! :: MICKEY DALEY :: No stranger to the 414, he first played the venue over 15 years ago! Since cutting his teeth in Coldharbour Lane, Mickey has been making big waves (har har!) on the south coast with his promotion and residency of Bournemouth’s undisputed number one Psytrance night - EDEN. We made the trip down to check it out for ourselves and were simply blown away by this mans energy and enthusiasm. The decision to have him come and play at Puzzle Project wasn’t simply decided on that criteria though. It was more the fact he had us and the rest of the capacity crowd dancing like rabid, deranged, salivating loonbags! :: SCORPY :: Touring the length and breadth of the country alongside the almighty Diablo-Traxx collective hasn’t been enough to satisfy Scorpy’s hunger for devastated dance floors. We are delighted to present this emerging talent, covering the harder shades of the dance spectrum. :: ALEX MAC & ZEEBRA KID :: With a plethora of production/remix credits and numerous gigs to their name you might already have an idea of just how awesome this duo are! Prepare to be taken on a journey of scintillating hard house and sizzling hardtrance with a smidgen of freeform and acid sauce on the side! With all that to look forward to, you could be forgiven for thinking that it’s likely to be an expensive night out. Rest assured limited advanced tickets available for only £5.00, you can have a fantastic night out without having to pull a pair of tights over your head and wandering into the Post Office with a loaded shotgun!
