  1. well, i had been into dnb in 96 or so, been listening to omni trio, photek and the likes. then got addicted to trance, after that with detroit techno.

last year i got into a dnb-party where they mainly played neurofunk and that totally got me. i'm no professional in that, but take a listen to "Black Sun Empire" or "Concord Dawn". and take a listen to late desimals music http://www.grahammarch.com/ . arcanna and afterlife! there is some pretty good netlabel stuff that you can find on archive.org - labels are stretching-spaces and mastik.

  2. Well, it would be called Techno by all, but I prefer to call it Tech-Trance (Not tech-psy-trance!!)... But in the end, it is Techno. I will dig out some more quality stuff. You can check out The Source Experience on H-Productions as well, (same label as Cari) on Beatport :) Actually, just check out the whole series of releases of 2008 from them :)

cari got a pretty much own style of jackin' techno-house. the only producer i would call coming close to him is thomas krome with his corb label (thomas chrome on loop records, throb on primate). unfortunately thomas is not releasing any more stuff nowadays, so you guys will have to stick to his older material. when you are at it, old joel mull stuff (pre 2000 - on inside records or as safety session on code red records) and adam beyer (also pre 2000, esp. code red) works well with caris music.

  4. + Listened to 4 samples

Now I'm scared... Oh well it's possible these samples are just deceiving...

hm, yes, the cover-artwork is not very nice, I have to admit I find it pretty boring. it does not fit to other suntrip releases in both style and colour composition - so let's see, maybe it is just a dummy. many have been complaining about the merr0w cover-artwork, which i think is the total opposite of the filteria one - it is original, the colours are well balanced and it totally transports the message of the music. but in the end only the music counts...

samples sound ok so far, but I would not go as far and say an album is good or bad just judging from 45 minute samples guys and girls.

  5. wow, i thought, even though the album is so rare, that more people might have a view on this. this is a real gem. i hope ciaran will someday rerelease this one (whatever format) so more people can enjoy the music. currently he is doing computer-game-music, so he might well have no time to think about it.

  6. i am not into the master and servant remix also. also, 2 of the newer tracks are not on the tracklist from psyshop. but i guess the one from discogs will be more correct than that one from psyshop.

    anyone know a release-date?

what is very "funny" is the votes on discogs. only one of the 3 guys actually owns the album.

  7. ktrance, see this thread also: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?sh...mp;#entry918154

so, lets take the tracklist at discogs as being final:

i think the selection of new tracks is good. uplifter, organik, phototropic 2 and rising high were the strongest tracks according to the samples from dados site. i would have liked this album to contain more new material. on the other hand, if the remixes are strong (and the land of confusion remix of 2007 -was- strong), i will not complain. so, let's see when this is obtainable and buy it.

  8. these are sad news. i read the news about a new BPC release about a year ago on gabriels myspace or his BPC website and was totally psyched. blue planet corporation had always been my favourite artist in the trance-genre. midian and lubianka are two of my favourite tracks from the early days of trance. when it was not released in last year's autumn i already sensed that this compilation might not happen at all. seeing the release-date being pushed month after month is really sad. of course we all know why this happens, many labels are struggeling hard to even get even with sales - we do not need to discuss that here again.

honestly, if PKS would ask if we would prepay for the CD to happen, i would do that instantly! if it would be released on kunaki, i'd order it from there. heck, there has to be a way ;-) - even if it would be that nasty compact-stick.

  9. Deviant Electronics - Brainwashing is Child's Play

Helix Records, released in March 1997

    Tracklist:

1 Brainwashing Is Childs Play (8:24)

    2 Viral Spiral (7:55)

    3 First Machine (9:11)

    4 Catharsis (7:47)

    5 Automatum (9:34)

    6 Elastic Bang (7:36)

7 When Then Is Now (7:33)

    8 Oystadub (7:09)

    9 Phenomenon Anon. (8:19)

This Goa-Trance album by Ciaran Walsh was released in the golden era of Goa Trance on Ciaran's own label "Helix Records" - both on CD and 3x12" vinyl. It is struggling to see that such an interesting release does not get the attention it deserves and thus falls into oblivion. In 1997 the track "Viral Spiral" was to be found on two of the biggest Goa-compilations: "Goa Räume" and "Trancentral". The last one was mixed by Mark Allen - just to throw the name in.

What you find on this album is crystal-clear 1997-era Goa Trance with three downtempo tracks. It is not as complicated as other tracks from the same year and I'm not sure what to compare it to, maybe X-Dream's "We Created Own Own Happiness". This is no Koxbox, Pleiadians, Psychopod.

The main reason why this record is not so well known might be the fact that not much instances of it were pressed and so the album is pretty hard to get. At least this offering made Blue Room Released interested in releasing a follow-up album by this artist.

Personally I wish this would album get somewhat re-released even if it would just be a digital download.

    Grade: 8/10

Best tracks: Brainwashing is Childs Play, Viral Spiral, Catharsis, When Then is Now

  10. this is a great release. i think it is one of the best free albums out at the moment. but there is one thing that bothers me, and that is the drone-sound in plasmoid from nearly the beginning up until minute 8:00 that is pretty lifeless and mixed too loud. for me this track would grade A to A- if just the drone would be less prominent in the mix.

  11. I have hosted it a while when jos asked, don't know if he asked others,

I changed from webspace provider a year agoo, can upload it again np, no limits...

    don't know if it's necessary ?

i guess i downloaded it from your site some days ago, so thanks and i'm glad i got it.

i was just wondering, if those tracks are intended to be released one by one on different compilations as the tracks "tribute to the sun" and "old is gold" can already be found elsewhere. i just don't understand why this album is so "hard" to get compared to other releases like the golden vibes compilations. as far as i understand the tracks for suntrip are all new, so maybe elad is planning something with these old tracks!? at least 10000 shapes yearns for a proper release, don't you guys think? this track is magical.

  12. i actually wonder why so few artists decide to publish their old material via beatport and the likes. what do they have to loose? integrity, underground status?

most classic albums are out of print for a long time. occasionally there are re-releases, but these are albums most of the time. contributions to compilations or single-releases are hardly republished. take "orphee" by jaia for example or "collapsar" by total eclipse.

  13. how come the "old is gold" release is hardly available on the net. is it not free anymore thus not being featured on sites like ektoplazm or did people simply not find this release interesting. to me this release has been one of the best new school releases in years - i love every track on it.
