They are not a psytrance group anymore, whatever psy they do put out on their albums beats most of the rubbish in the scene today by a mile IMO

Well to me most of what was psy about there music is gone, I can hear it's infected yes, but but psy no...?! IMHO of course! But there are so many better mixes of electronica and rock/mainstream than this, so much better, and it's been done for ages! But I agree that people who never would have cheched out the psychedelic scene would now have a chance, but not really sure that 30% of them actually will enjoy the "real scene", but I guess that could be a possibility?!?!
I would beg to differ, name one band that has the psy baseline and synthwork fused with rock/mainstream

Well guys Iv been tracking IM for really long now cause I still like their music, I enjoy the track above too,
Sorry to dissapoint but their style has completely changed, this is more a rock than a trance album and the only track you guys will find worth downloading are Franks and Saeed. Franks is the only non vocal psy track on the album
Every other track has a barrage of vocals

Psycho Remix
The fly
Electro Panic
Gravity Waves

I don't quite understand the relentless criticism of Astral Projection... they've never wavered too far from their original path--which always had commercial appeal, if you ask me.
BTW: BNE is kaput.
Couldnt have said it any better
-
It is commercial, its featured on ministry of sound.. but then again astral where always commercially successful.. their older albums all sold very good.
For me personally i dont care if its commercial or not for me its about good or bad music according to my personal taste.. and to me these new tracks sound like they wanted to have a bit of the old trade mark astral lead sounds, but with the latest killargh full on bass and some full on tricks like that reverb on the kick before a break etc, kind of like just so that a new full on label would release it. For some reason BNE didnt release it, due to reasons wich i dont know.
I think these tracks sound good in some parts, but somewhere they get lost.. the energy/inspiration and the build from their glory days is not there for me, my mind dont get in a trance state as its ruined for me by the full on tricks. All in all a very plastic and faded return. I prefer listening to some real music with feelings like RA or any other of new school guys who still does it for the love of music.
For me, astral always had that cross over appeal in their music, that doesnt mean its not good, I myself am delighted that they stuck to their magical melodies + some full on tricks in there, I think they do it for the love of music otherwise they would have just made the standard bs no melody fullon with the killaaah base and released an album long ago. Imo they have evolved their style over the years perfectly, 7 years to be precise since Chaos, anyway thats just IMO

thanks
I dont get it, if anything it has the same vibe as the earlier material, you'r saying this is sold out commercial stuff?
-
New astral track the one:-
Also on myspace with a new remix http://www.myspace.com/astralprojectionavilior
AMAZING track esp the one wow astral you guys are still gods
-
Interesting with anonymous newcomers who always have strong opinions on things, your post is more spam then paweleks, he just said what he felt about the album! I havent listened to the entire album yet only the intro wich I found to be a bit dorky with the guy talking with a down pitched voice repeating stuff like: this iiiis rrrrraaaa i think it was the same type of intro on the first ra album anyways thats just the intro im gonna write more here when I have heard all tracks
Oh so the number of posts on psynews is the new telling point of experience in the scene.... i may be new to this forum but im far from being new to the scene....nice little measuring scale you got there

Checked the album already 4th time today. Its a good album comparing to other modern newchool goa trance albums released last years.
But its nothing special. What i means is its very high quality production, but it doesnt have a soul. I hope you know what i mean.
Its empty goatrance without any emotion. Melodies are in every track the same. They are just there just like that. Few tracks sounds like old Ra and that a plus for the artist he managed to keep old style. And a minus is the feeling of fluffyness. Thats too much for me.
Reasuming, in few months i will probably not remember this album was released. Sad...
6/10
Ok we are all entitled to opinion but this post feels like spam
NO SOUL -really ? is this a joke?
-
I'm waiting for posford to go fullon and bring in the guitars and kbbbkbbbkbbbkbbb. :posford:
Yea that would be sweet...Hit and Run (posford breakbeat remix)
Becoming Insane (posford killah remix)
That would be the day..
Lol but seriously Im really enjoying those weird cat sounds...I dig this track
-
Its thanks to people like you that astral keep on making this buy their album do whatever you want with your money.. from me they wont get a euro cent.
Ok so you may not like their new style, i loved it if it was like the prophecy that track had some beautiful melodies and before you brand me a fullon lover i barely listen to fullon, im a huge old time astral fan and primarily only listen to new wave goa, the south african scene and some ambient
-
So now you guys judge albums based on track names...it somehow magically tells you whether they spent time on the album or not.. IMO the drummer video at the top of the page sounds v promising...their last track the prophecy is one of my favs...so yes i have expectations of this album..
Though i will agree those remixes sound awful
The New Infected Album Is Out There..
in General Psytrance
