Transcending 130 bpm After years of performing, writing and recording music together in various projects flutist Pearce Van Der Merwe and percussionist-multi-instrumentalist Daniel Symons decided to create a duo together called COSMOSOPHY. After the success of their debut solo albums "Flooting Grooves--Upsyde Downe", "Dymons-Druids Brew" and their bands' album "The Peaking Godddess Collective-Organika" produced with Ajja, Master Margherita, DJ Gaspard, and Tanya (founders of Peak Records), Pearce and Dan are creating new concoctions of sounds different to all the previous releases... After touring all summer with their various live acts they headed back to the studio with loads of inspiration from the smiling dancefloors and chillouts from around the world! The result is a promising album released by Elestial Records and distributed by Arabesque Distribution, UK.... Cosmosophy is coming soon... on a sound system near you! The live set is extremely versatile as it is modulable to fit nicely on a mainstage, an afternoon dancefloor, alternative stage, or in the chillout area... “Cosmosophy - Organic Space Age” is a melting pot of many influences. Coming from different yet similar musical horizons Pearce and Dan have brought together their knowledge as instrumentalists as much as electronic sonic wizards to make a new kind of electro/accoustic music. Fat driving basslines, tribal and groovy beats, floating scapes, dreamy melodies and mysterious sounds and are the ingredients to this feast for the soul. It also features Eulogio “Mambi” Arguelles-Puey, Cuban master of the congas and batas, Yann Shirardin with deep feeling on guitars and Eliot Short fiddling on the viola, the violin and mandolins. With musical inspiration from all over the world and the ages a new journey is born… A touch of funk, of the 70’s, breakbeats, ethnic, world fusion, dub, afro-beat, electronica, psychedelic and progressive trance… the combination of all these elements makes for a very ecclectic and even avantgarde album some say... Elestial Records, Dymons, Druids Brew, 2007 Hi ! This is Daniel Symons aka Dymons (sometimes misspelt Dyamonds, Dymonds, Dymon...) I founded Elestial Records to unite musical genres of different cultures of the globe, the universe and beyond... for the benefit of all beings... This first solo album “Druids Brew” is a potion made of the many influences I was blessed with traveling through space, time and beyond... Although very dub oriented this album flows through a multitude of styles and atmospheres... I spent a few years on the road gathering ambient sounds into a little black box and many musical influences from all continents. This is a journey through a wide diversity of soundscapes. The album features a Master of Santeria(Afro-Cuban Mysticism) on the congas, a talented griot from West Africa on tama, cabasa and n’goni(traditional African guitar), a Divine female voice from the Berber tribe and much more... Fat driving bass lines, grooving drum beats, pulsing skanks, ethnic and contemporary sounds dance together in a psychedelic fashion for you to sit back and enjoy the ride or move you feet to the beats either way it should take you on a trip!
