Guest Andreas of Amygdala Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Hi all I've just finished a track that has a bad case of hiss. I have a good recording of the hiss, but can't seem to find a decent de-Esser/Noiser, that will remove noise with the recording as fingerprint... Do you know any...? I've tried Spark XL, but either it's a no-good sad attempt of making a cool sound-app, or I don't know how to use it... The deNoise plugin doesn't change the sound at all Any experience and/or advice...? Thanks in advance .oO Andreas Oo. Quote
Guest X-tul Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Hi, Soundforge has quite a good denoiser based on noise fingerprints. It's not realtime though. Samplitude has a good denoiser which works in realtime. You could also try the DART Pro software. Waves have just released an audio restauration plugins set which works very well I've been told. For high end denoising and restauration I recommend CubeTec VPIs and/or Cedar. But these need dedicated DSP hardware. Maybe you can find one of these in a mastering studio near you. Quote
Guest Mike Indidginus Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Hi Andreas, I find that Sonic Foundry's Noise Reduction works pretty well for quite bad cases of hiss Or Arboretum's Ray Gun is pretty quick & easy for the lesser cases, or those that don't have a noiseprint.... Quote
Guest Andreas of Amygdala Posted May 24, 2003 Posted May 24, 2003 Wow, those were some deNoising pearls - I will look into it! Thanks a million, I would hate to have to mix that track again - this one came out pretty good, except the noise... Thanks again .oO Andreas Oo. Quote
