Guest Reconstructed Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 I've been using Cubase VST32 5.1 for some time now (Several months). Up until recently I've had no problems whatsoever. Ever since I got an Ethernet card, Cubase has been running... slow. It pauses for about 1 second after I click on any track- midi or audio, whenever I edit any controller changes/pitchbend etc in the MIDI edit window and moving any knobs in any soft synths. When I click on, say pitch bend data in the MIDI window, when dragging it (making it higher or lower) it stutters and pauses inbetween values like I have a very low Frames per second. Since then I have removed the Ethernet Card and reinstalled Cubase, but it still happens. Anyone have any idea what is wrong? Quote
Guest Bahamut Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 Sounds to me like a hardware conflict with the ethernet card and your soundcard. What windows version are you using? Quote
Guest Bahamut Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 sorry, I see you removed the ethernet card now that's strange... how about re-installing your soundcard? Quote
Guest DeeperNETWERK Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 Maybe you should think about making hardware profiles. Make a profile that only loads the drivers for the hardware you use while doing audio production. If that fails... Try reinstalling your system. It may have to do with currupt registry. Is Cubase the only thing that is going slow? Or is it your entire system? Quote
Guest Reconstructed Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 Yes it is just Cubase = I might be reformatting I guess... Quote
Guest Reconstructed Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 It's about time I reformat anyways! Quote
Guest thebastard Posted January 3, 2003 Posted January 3, 2003 reconstructed: try this link http://home.no.net/fbreivik/Optimize/ntaudio.htm especially pay attention the section regarding ACPI or Standard PC motherboard settings.... this could well be the problem alex Quote
Guest Reconstructed Posted January 4, 2003 Posted January 4, 2003 Ok, I completely reformatted and reinstalled everything. Problem is still happening. I checked the IRQs and my Sound Card isn't sharing with anything. I really have no idea what is wrong. Quote
Guest Reconstructed Posted January 4, 2003 Posted January 4, 2003 Fixed! I toggled expert mode in the Audio setup and changed the Cubase application priority to 'Normal 2' instead of the default 'Normal 1'. Thanks everyone for their help regardless! Quote
