Headphonics - Evolution of funk

Recommended Posts

Headphonics is a collaboration between Tommi Sirkiä aka Haltya, 1/2 Highpersonic Whomen and

Markku Louhio aka 2/2 Highpersonic Whomen, 1/2 Kiwa.

From their web page :

We are happy to inform that the new Headphonics double album is finally ready for the release.

The volume contains two parts, Opus 1 and 2 which both are following the bottom line of "funk in it's many forms", from it's roots to modern styles and interpretations. Opus 1 dives deep in the breaks and alike where Opus 2 presents a more organic side of the album.

Funk is the key factor of most modern musical styles, popular and underground. From the funk and soul of the 70's to disco, from disco to hip hop and electro, to dance music such as house, techno, breaks and drum 'n' bass. All the way up to most pop music produced today and many various styles in between. This is what "Evolution Of Funk" is all about.

As some of you might know, this release was produced as a result of our debut album "Mass" leaking on the net. Basically we had to create two albums with the price of one. We are not accusing people who dowload their music, just to remind them, that this kind of activity will evidently run independent labels down and stop the artists, who truly try to find new innovations in music and keep things "real", from producing quality music for your pleasure.

Headphonics double album Evolution Of Funk is due to come out in February on Exogenic Breaks Records. (www.exogenicmusicgroup.com)

Before this we will present a couple of samplers from the album. First one coming up is an mp3-single, "Sprudel Wasser".
